Zell am See is a town on the route of the Transalpin train.
Zell am See is a town on the route of the Transalpin train. We stayed for one night before our journey across the alps to Zurich. If you don't ski, there is little to do in town when it's cold outside besides a stroll along the beautiful lake and a visit to shops and restaurants. One 24-hour period was enough for us to see and do everything. The location of the train station made this a very easy place to visit.

Zell am See didn't have the quaint alps village feel at all, more like a regular large town, the high street was very disappointing.
The scenery of the lake and mountains was breath taking. Simply beautiful.
Snow for skiing in Feb 24 was absolutely awful given the low altitude! A lot of mud patches on the lower runs rendering them unusable. I would consider elsewhere for skiing option tbh. The ski resort was small and good for beginners/families primarily.
I felt very safe walking around the town.

We loved Zell am See.
We loved Zell am See. From the ease of getting here (the train from Salzburg is clean, quick and on time), to the scenery, beautiful town and great people. Everyone was pleasant to deal with, the facilities are excellent (although watch out for the supermarkets closing early compared to the UK) and the skiing is brilliant. Lift queues were generally short. However, as expected, everything is expensive!

What I like the most: Friendly staff, free use of washing machine and dryer at the lobby, underground garage, spacious living room and fully equipped kitchen, near the lake for a leisure walk and near to town and near to a lot of ski lifts and cable car to Schmittenhöhe
What I don like: nothing. Just be sure not to have a late check in so that you can seek for help before the reception close

Zell am See is truly beautiful.
Zell am See is truly beautiful. We had an amazing week of skiing with an excellent ski guide (Thomas Hager, https://www.alpin-guide.com/eng/), who added so much to our ski holiday experience. The town of Zell am See has an array of great restaurants, bars and shops. We travelled over the Christmas period and the place was festive with lots of Christmas spirit in the air! We would highly recommend a trip to Zell am See.

Zell am See is a proper small town with a lovely pedestrian...
Zell am See is a proper small town with a lovely pedestrian zone and not just a ski resort. It is located on one side of a beautiful lake, surrounded by mountains. There's a good choice of places to eat and drink and I particularly like the Gin House and Steinerwirt. I get the sense it's quite a good place for a mixed group of those who ski/snowboard and those who don't, but it's particularly good for skiers as there are several lift options from and around the town, so wherever you stay you'll probably be close to one of the base lifts. Accommodation on the hill just above the town will have great views and, provided you leave your equipment at a base station or have a car, the walk is quite pleasant.
The location is in the center of Zell am See, everything you need is found on the site and close to the lake, entertainment and various restaurants, in addition to the restaurant and meals inside the hotel and the receptionists were very kind and welcoming to the guests. There were celebrations at the same time that I stayed at the hotel and all the people were cheerful and happy opposite the hotel there are outdoor seating overlooking the market, shopping centers and gifts.
Hotel was warm, very clean, sauna was great, breakfast and dinner offered a decent variety of food, staff at the restaurant were very friendly and welcoming. Supermarket just next door was very convenient. Big advantage was the ski rent facility inside the hotel itself, with very competitive prices and a very friendly, patient and kind mister from Australia managing the facility who is one of the reasons we might consider coming back next year again 🙂
Me and my wife enjoyed a lot the stay at the Hotel Landhaus Zell am See, the staff is very kind and attended our requests and have a very good english level.
The place offers great value for the price including the region's summer card and breakfast and for an extra there is a nice dinner menu at night which we recommend.
The rooms are tidy and comfortable and offered all that was necessary for our stay.
Free parking in the hotel.
If you come to ZELL AM SEE to ski / snowboard, this is a super convenient hotel. Top location (on the Main Street) - all restaurants and shops are nearby, bus to Kaprun is across the road, cityXpress ski lift is just a few houses away, Achleitner (very nice rental shop for skiing equipment) - also across the street. Very friendly staff. Breakfast OK, but gets repetitive on day 3.
The place is - wow! Beautiful location, wonderful facilities, great hosts, exceptional architecture! Although the hotel is not right on the lakeside - it has its own beach with private access for guests - 3 min walking distance. The hotel is on the opposite side of the lake from the town of Zell am See - close enough to drive to downtown and far enough away from its crowds.
Very nice hotel for skiing trip with sauna, which you can book at the reception and have a time for your company or family. Nice breakfast, comfortable rooms. It's not far from Areitbahn ski lift, apress ski bar. Around there are few places with a good food. Also there is free parking behind the hotel.
Quiet and safe neighborhood and nice views through the window.
Everything was second-to-none!
I was pleased to be back to St Georg for the 4th time. The staff is as welcome as always, they are ready to help and give tips 24/7.
I especially like the traditional Austrian style of the hotel - super cozy, authentic and very tranquil. Spa was well upgraded, I do recommend popping in there after an intense day of hiking/skiing.
Comfortable room. Very good breakfast. Ski / boot room warm. Just over 300m to Ariet gondola. Ski bus stops just outside for Kaprun or Zell Am See on the lake.
Bus depot is 250m from hotel where Line 260 bus departs to Salzburg airport.
Zell Am Zee is a very pleasant town to stroll around with loads of restaurants and cafes.
It was my first stay at Hotel Gruner Baum ....I have been in Zell am See many times before but never had a chance to book my stay here. It was a great choice and I really enjoyed it.
Perfect location in heart of Zell am See. Really great breakfast and dinner. Close to ski resorts....
We loved and enjoyed our stay with our 2 kids. The room was comfy and size ideal for 4 people. Glad we have decided to book your hotel as it made our stay in Zell am See much nicer. The food was nice. I would love to point out the receptionist, super helpful and super nice!
Close to Zell am see center, lake, restaurant and market shops
The sauna was additional star for the hotel

The host was very nice and helpful. It has elevator
The hotel's location is a gem, offering stunning views and convenient access to the beauty of Zell am See. I couldn't have asked for a better place to experience the charm of this picturesque destination.

Hotel located on main street, easy walk to lake side and train station. It offers good breakfast. Has its own restaurant offering good choices of Austrian and Thai dishes.Hosts are friendly.
Everything was perfect.
Breakfast good, people from the hotel was so friendly, the heated pool and the underground parking make the hotel one of the best choice from Zell am See.
