The property was beautiful! Quiet and out of town. Hugo was an attentive and informative host. We borrowed bikes to take a spin around. The breakfast was amazing!

Spent just one night here while hiking but it was a lovely little town. It was off season (March) but there were still some great restaurants open - would highly recommend Odesos, some of the best seafood I’ve ever had. The surrounding area and coastal hikes are stunning!

Zambujeira do Mar is a great place for someone looking for peace and quiet. There are some tourists but the town is really small with limited accommodation capacity, so the number of people is not overwhelming. Also, a lot of Portuguese spend their holidays there. There’s a few restaurants to choose from, all quite good. Zambujeira do Mar is a small town, so everything is within a short walk distance. I think there’s no ATM there so it’s good to have some cash (if you like to have it with you).

Three beautiful beaches, but pretty crowded in August.
Three beautiful beaches, but pretty crowded in August. The village is an overnight stay on the Rota Vicentina, Portugal's long-distance coastal footpath, so there are good walking opportunities. On the two nights we were there we ate at Restaurante Rita. The food is good, but its main attraction is the great view of the stunning sunsets. Pretty well everything in the village is within walking distance so find a place to park your car and leave it there! Non-Portuguese should be aware that this is the Atlantic coast. The sea is cold!

In mid June (2019) the town was still very quiet, though most of the restaurants were open for business. When I went to the beach at 10 am i was literally the only person on the beach, despite it being a cloudless sky and warm sunshine. Most of the other visitors to the town seemed to be hikers walking the "Fishermen's Trail".
I only had time for one meal, but I am very happy with my choice. The restaurant called Sol Dourado, Rua da Palmeira, Lote 43. Try the Sopa de Cação (€13.50) - a large serving, probably enough for two people.

I would love to point out this accommodation's strengths. It is literally a 3 mins walk to the beach and maybe a 1 min walk from the main street where you will get amazing restaurants. The staff is genuine and friendly. Diogo (the owner) lives right above the hostel and is around for anything you might need. We really enjoyed chatting with him and hearing about the things he saw hosting the rota vicentina hikers.
We had initially booked a smaller room but the host was nice to upgrade us to a bigger one with a balcony and more sunlight. The room was quite spacious and the bathroom also. It had TV with many channels, a mini fridge and a kettle. This place is very central near the restaurants/cafes/supermarket and beach but on a quiet street. It's a nice place to rest after hiking if you are doing Rota Vicentina.
This is one of the best places I've ever stayed in.
The room was wonderful with a private balcony.
The swimming pool of the hotel is beautiful with a large grass garden overlooking the sea.
There is an easy stairway to the beach. The beach itself is almost empty compared to the other beaches in the area.
Great breakfast as well!
I'll be back and I encourage everyone to book!
The most delightful boutique hotel. The decor is exceptionally tasteful; the deck overlooks the sea; a magnificent beach is a short walk away; Sandra and her staff were charming and helpful, and the breakfast was the best ever - delicious fresh fruit and breads. And there are great seafood restaurants in the village and down the road - Sacas and A Barca Tranquitanas
We had a wonderful stay in Zambujeira do Mar. Maria was a very welcoming and warm-hearted host. The room was nicely decorated and had a nice balcony from which we could see the ocean. Everything was very clean. The main street with some restaurants is close by as well as the beach. We enjoyed hiking along the coast a lot.
Onestly, one of the best hostel I’ve ever been. Everything was perfect:nice rooms and common areas, bathrooms, facilities (washing machine plus DRYER!!! If you’re walking along the rota Vicentina that’s wowww). Super kind hosts (with great stories to tell also!) and perfect location. If you’re traveling nearby stop there!
The house is in an amazing location, right on the cliff in the beautiful town of Zambujeira do Mar. It is also a very charming place, with amazing sea views and the sound of the sea. The owner, whom we've met briefly when we arrived and before leaving, is a very kind and nice lady.
the bike trail was really cool
the secluded beach was EXCEPTIONAL!
n yes the hike down is a bit scary but REALLY FUN AND TOTALLY DOABLE!
Breakfast was good too
Best vegan burger for lunch
Farm animals around are cute too
very peaceful and quiet
Room was very clean and quiet
The room was simple but very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was glorious! It may have been one of the best I experienced on my trip. The staffers there were very accommodating, too. It is a small community with a fantastic beach and lots of restaurants.
staff was very friendly and helpful when we arrived right at 8 pm and front desk gentlemen stayed and helped us
with a location for dinner and other info about the hotel and area
great atmosphere and felt right at home breakfast was great as well
Everything, especially the fact that we could make tea on a very cold, wet winter day. Also, room was warm which is not always the case in Portugal in winter. Very cosy and welcoming. Also, the best bed we had on our trip.
Clean, quiet and comfortable simple hotel with very helpful reception staff and a good range of choices in the breakfast buffet. Just what we needed when walking the Fishermans Way. Rooms had a nice balcony.
Animals near the property were an amazing surprise. Place is very quiet and private. Staff was very nice. Super clean. Pool was big and the outsoor space was big and welcoming. Our fiends loved it.
The bungalows are a wonderful retreat from some of the bigger hotels and living next an orange orchard was sublime. The staff bent over backwards to meet all our needs, and everything was perfect!
great location and views. perfect spot to watch the waves roll in as sun goes down. quiet in January. First good bed we’ve had in 2 weeks of Portugal. Gratis bottle of wine was a nice touch.
Location was great. Very close to Zambujeira do Mar without being in the actual town. Very quiet and relaxing.
Breakfast was brought to our door in the morning. Lovely variety of choice!
Better than expected. All SUPER clean, very friendly staff and a simply delicious breakfast. Location is great as well, 5 min walking to the beach or restaurant area.... Recommended!
The stunning view is unmatched. Also a semi private beach with a funtastic sunset. The staff there is extremely helpful and friendly, and it's the house of a legend.
Clean townhouse and owner communicates well and quickly. Evenings in town are relaxing with more food options than expected. Nearby Carvalhal Beach, south of town.
