The building was wonderful and modern, and restored and renovated with its character intact. Different views from many angles, close enough to town, yet removed for a pastoral stay. Room had all the amenities, but they did not replace the coffee pouches except once during my 5 days. Pasteis de Nata was the best I had on the islands. Bottled fizzy water was a nice touch. Good fresh cut fruit and figs. I appreciated that I could take my breakfast to my room without any fuss. Homemade cookies and celebratory cupcakes on April 25 were a very nice touch!

Comfortable bed, room has everything you need, breakfast was delicious. Definitely recommended.

What I liked the most were the old streets, with the buildings, including the Angra do Heroismo Museum. However, there were a few minor annoyances:
1. The Tourust Information booth was useless, and you couldn't book a tour on-site.
2. The routes were pretty narrow, and people parked on the street, and nearly everyone drove, which made it a bit perilous for those on foot.
Nevertheless, the people were nice, and most spoke English

We did a lot of walking as it’s often the best way to get to know a place. Angra has much to offer in the way of history, beautiful public gardens, views - we climbed Monte Brasil - churches and eateries.

Beautiful, walkable downtown. People were so friendly.
Beautiful, walkable downtown. People were so friendly. Stunning views both looking at Monte Brasil and from Monte Brasil looking back toward town. The pink cathedral was very interesting, worth a stop in. Food was excellent! We especially enjoyed O Forno for dessert and the many tapas restaurants on Rua de Sāo Joāo. We also went scuba diving and found Nuno with Deep Blue Azores to be fantastic - wonderful dive master and very interactive underwater. Wonderful island and already itching to go back!

I was only there for one day, which was definitely not enough! Still, I was able to do a hike at Monte Brasil and explore Angra do Heroísmo downtown. Really recommend Monte Brasil if you are looking for some nature near town. Besides that the view from Obelisco do Alto da Memoria is amazing! I had lunch at Tasca das Tias, a really cute restaurante with great food.

The hotel is very conveniently located in the city of Angra and we were able to access everything easily by walking distance. When the staff was around, the customer support was also great. The first night we stayed at the hotel my husband couldn't sleep because of weird noises. We asked the front desk if we could move rooms and they upgraded us to the suite for no additional charge which was extremely generous of them. We were on our honeymoon and the staff also left us sparkling wine as a gift in our room.
Large, well appointed apartment with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Our host, Vitor, was very helpful with a lot of good advice. We enjoyed our conversations. We were there for seven nights. The view from the living and dining rooms and the balcony is outstanding. Having a clothes washer and dryer is a plus. The apartment is walking distance to most sights and having free parking in front of the building is appreciated. This apartment is a great place to stay in Angra do Heroismo.
Good central location on lively street. I had top floor room with own bathroom, which was quiet and well insulated from street by double glazing and shutters. Lovely bathroom with excellent shower. Aircon quiet and efficient. Wi-Fi seamless. Room well designed for lighting and USB sockets etc. In every respect this room surpassed the 4-star hotel room I had just come from.
Vanessa was very welcoming and helpful with advice on buses and airport transfer.
Wonderful and helpful staff, room air conditioning was great and quiet, loved the view from the room, room was cozy and clean, great look in the bathroom. Flavio and Fernanda were wonderful and welcoming. Booked here after 2 of 3 nights at another hotel were awful. Even had dinner at the restaurant which was great. Highly recommend. And loved that it was in the old fortress.
We loved everythinga about this hotel. We love the rooms, the special touch with the cupcakes upon arrival was very nice. The employee who handled our check-in I cannot recall her name but she is from Sao Miguel from Livramente, she was absolutely the best and sweetest! Our room was perfect (clean, comfortable and with a gorgeous view). I would go back for sure.
Brand new hotel (in service for 2 months as of August 2023), very tasteful set up in a historical palace. The new furniture and the old building interact in an exemplary manner - très chic. Everything is kept extremely clean, the room service also did a great job. Pool is definitely a plus, but with a limited size.
A very comfortable and "cosy" hostel.
Amazing location - in the centre of Angra do Heroísmo. Awesome views of the ocean, marina and Igreja da Misericórdia from the balcony. Great common areas.
It was really quiet: I didn't hear any noise from other rooms or outside a hostel.
Highly recommend!
I loved everything about the Shipyard. The design is awesome, the decoration is beautiful and all staff was just amazing, from receptionist, to restaurant staff and cleaning team. I have traveled and stayed in many hotels but this one was the best one so far. I will come back again for sure.
Room was very spacious with a couch and side table; and a balcony overlooking the backyard. Use of common kitchen was very helpful, and so was the staff. Nice breakfast. Close to grocery store, and 10 min walk to city center. Easy and inexpensive parking in front of hotel.
We really liked the location of the hotel. It has an easy access to the center, beach, restaurants, shops, etc.
Our room was big, clean, with an amazing view.
The buffet breakfast offers a good range of options, such as eggs, cold cuts, breads, fresh fruit, beverages.
Lots of fun and unusual decorations in the rooms and hallways. Friendly staff. The breakfast was a significantly better than many B&Bs we have stayed in Portugal. Large rooms. Next to Canadinha, which is one of the best local seafood restaurants on the island.
I enjoyed the garden-side room with small balcony. I enjoyed the hot tub. I enjoyed the breakfast area, with its varied options, including the milk for coffee, (not offered in cafes in the city) And I enjoyed the hotel restaurant.
Good location, with a free hotel's parking inside the yard. Good room, big bathroom, everything was clean. Corridors with forest prints are magical! Rich breakfast.
GREAT Location walking distance to the BEAUTIFUL downtown area, free and close parking, LOVELY outdoor space in back of the hotel, and WONDERFUL hosts!
