Enjoyed staying there for three days .
Enjoyed staying there for three days . Took most of the tours offered . The river tour was the best . Don’t expect to see a lot of wildlife as advertised .
The resort itself is an old one and very tired looking . They need to do a major facelift . The food is acceptable . Room was also very tired looking . Pool area is great . When booking tours , the staff didn’t seem to be competent . They didn’t charge us when we booked the lift tour and we almost didn’t make it !

It´s a great place to travel with kids.
It´s a great place to travel with kids. The excursions give you the opportunity to get in touch with the Panamanian nature. I recommend the boat excursion, You can sail near big boats entering the Canal. They also take to specific spost where you can see monkeys and other animals.

We loved our stay at Gamboa Rainforest Resort.
We loved our stay at Gamboa Rainforest Resort.
So much to do near the resort. The. Cultural and Nature excursions were first rate. The Panama Canal is fascinating to learn about. The facilities are gorgeous and although they are a bit vintage and show wear one sees the bones of this beautiful property cannot Be denied. There was a beautiful wedding while we were there and we went to nature sanctuaries hiked jungle trails and saw all kinds of animals Monkeys and birds. One of The best parts of our 2 week stay in Panama!
Wish there were more food options however.

Gamboa itself is a small village.
Gamboa itself is a small village. There is only a restaurant or two outside of the hotel, and one small grocery story for common items.
The visit is really based on the Gamboa Rainforest Resort (lots of tours) and the Pipeload road and Discovery center for birding.

The hotel location is incredible, you have a lot of space to chose in the common areas, the hotel was not crowded so it's feels like very private and relaxing place.
After our reserve in booking the check in hour was not specific and we arrived to the hotel at 1 p.m and the check in was at 3:00 p.m., after that they had a delay to gave us the bedroom and when finally we rich it, the room door had problems to open. They gave us a suit but this suit was too cold, the air conditioner was really noisy, the pillows was no really confortable, and the suit summed up in a group of old furniture that had not sense with the experience that we was expecting. 2 TV's, a bar, a living room that we din't had time to use and a small and dark shower nothin commensurate with the suit size. One last point is that the principal reason by which I took this room was because it included a bath but in the end it never was in the reserve specifications and finally we needed to enjoy our dark shower. This is a huge hotel but I think that is overrated, I've been in a cheaper hotels with more comfortable and less noisy rooms.
Beautiful, safe neighborhood with a native garden tucked up near the rainforest. The studio was perfectly clean with all visitors need in the bathroom and kitchen. The owner was out and f the country but was readily in contact by messages. There was a break in the water line to Gamboa but we were both immediately notified and our water needs were met completely. The birding was awesome. We’ll be back in a heartbeat.
Charming 1930s house in local neighborhood of very small town of Gamboa. Great location amidst the rainforest - we saw all kinds of birds and animals. The house is lovely, has high ceilings, fans, mosquito netting on the windows and is very comfortable. Gamboa is a lovely small rural place to stay and Jorge was a wonderful host.
staff was great we had a problem with our rented car and staff took lots of time to deal with rental agency as we didnt speak spanish and they got all done for us and that allowed us to go off the grounds
there was a short night tour that was fun but we only heard about it from another guest not from the hotel
The location of this hotel is great - in the middle of the rain forest. The lobby is very impressive when you enter for the 1st time. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
The free night safari tour was a nice surprise.
It's great to lay in your private hammock on your balcony to listen to the jungle sounds.
super location, in the middle of the rainforest at just 30 mins from Panama City
the hotel has nice facilities and a great pool
the room size was good and you have a balcony with a hammock and very beautiful view over the Chagres river
We love staying at Gamboa Rainforest Reserve, staff are super friendly, the room is comfortable and tours were great. We were able to book two tours, the sloth sanctuary and Gatun expedition and it was great to see the animals.
The rooms were spacious with a balcony facing the river and a hammock to enjoy the view. The hotel is in a colonial style, which creates a very nice atmosphere. The pool is huge, great for swimming, chilling and also children.
The staff are the great asset of the hotel. They are all very friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The room was clean and it was great to have a balcony overlooking the Chagres River.
the only thing I enjoyed about the property was the location in the rainforest and the sloths. lots of capybaras on the property at night and Mexican raccoons. other then that the whole stay was a complete disaster.
This was a pleasant surprise! I wish ALL my bookings could be like this. Clean, organized, great location (given it was in Gamboa, basically in the middle of nowhere), great condition with everything you needed.
Location was unreal. Its lucky its in such a beautiful place as everything else about the hotel was awful. Hikes on site and birdlife amazing. Breakfast was also surprisingly really good.
