Vardø and Meieriet have been very special for us, one of the highlights of our trip. The atmosphere has been memorable and we literally felt at home. The room had this intriguing antique vibe and at the same time all the modern comforts one may need. We will like to go back one day. Absolutely recommended!

Great place for a budget traveler! Cute beach decor in the room! Better than expected for the price. Nice little kitchen, toilet and shower.
For those complaining, what did you think €50 would get you this far north of the Arctic circle in Norway? Weather is harsh, supplies are expensive. heater is definitely big enough for the room, close the window and put on some layers. its not economical to heat the room to sauna level. yep walls are thin and it couldn’t pass a white glove inspection and perhaps the kitchen could be cleaner. But if he spent more money fixing those things….the nightly cost would go up.
The dude seems chill, was cool about a late check out, friendly. i guess as an Alaskan i just have reasonable expectations, especially for this price.

Comfortable beds, windows could be opened for fresh air, light and spacious bedrooms (3) for singles on the first floor, centrally located coming from 'Hurtigruten' - close to 'Vardøhus', seems to be sufficiently equipped flat, though a rare mix of 60'ish and 80'ish and some more modern. Bathroom on the ground floor was small, but seemed relatively modernized and had a shower. Some charm to the flat and the neighborhood. Very spacious living room. Nice floors. Small but charming (the bits from the 60's) kitchen, where we had cold breakfast (working refrigerator), otherwise we didn't use the kitchen facilities.
The farthest Eastern place in Norway. I visited it in Winter, few days after the first sunrise this year. Sunrises over Barents see are magnificent! Lots of places to wander nearby. Fantastic opens paces. Calm and silent. The road to Vardo is epic. On the coast, there is a XVII Century Witch Hunt Memorial which is worthy to see. As the town is not too big, it is a great place to hunt for Northern Lights too!

We went during the off-season, so it was very quiet.
We went during the off-season, so it was very quiet. Able to walk to areas of interest within a day. Easy to get out of the town center by walking and hiking through gorgeous arctic landscape. Vardo does feel like a ghost town at times- locals explained this is due to outsourcing of fish processing, loss of jobs, and people moving away. Very interesting history. Highly recommend Drakkar, the Vardohus Fortress, and the witch monument. Recommend fish dinner at the Vardo Hotel- chefs there are amazing. I had "Cod is Great." We also ate at Meieret, which has decent food and friendly hosts.
I loved my stay at Meieriet! Dawn and Jonny really made me feel at home. Being vegan, they went out of their way to offer me a good breakfast every morning and nice dinners at their restaurant. I was able to really enjoy life in Vardø and to get to know some of the locals. My room was spacious and clean and the bed comfortable.

Hotel conveniently located in the town center with nice views to the harbour and very close to the tourist info/departure for Hornoya and Pomor Museum. The fort is also at a short walking distance. The hotel is comfortable and there is ample parking on the street. Staff very kind and helpful.
Excellent location. Really good breakfast and dinner. The couple running the place are welcoming and nice people that knows a lot about Vardø and the surrounding area. The rom was good sized with a sitting area and a comfortable bed. If ever going back, we will stay again.
A nice place to spend your vacation. I had a wonderful time, I can absolutely recommend this hotel. Here hospitality is still lived. The food is very good, very good fish dishes. Gladly again and thank you for the nice conversations, I felt very comfortable.
Nice and cosy apartament. Very clean and good equiped (kitchen, bathroom and rooms). Everything is new and modern. Located in the heart of Vardø - close to sightseeing places. The best hosting and hospitality - a very helpful and welcoming host.
The apartment was very cozy, clean and in possibly the most beautiful location of Vardø with an arctic sea view. The hosts were very welcoming and kind! Highly recommend – we will have to come back again in the summertime. :)
The staff was amazing, they were really nice and helpful.
Location is great (just by the harbor).
Rooms are decent size, comfortable and clean.
The restaurant in the hotel is highly recommended.
The small room I had was actually quite cozy and relatively clean. The location is very good as everything is in a short walking distance (well, everything is in walking distance in Vardø).
Central location. View of the harbor from the restaurant/breakfast room. Good restaurant and good breakfast. Helpful staff. Free parking in front of hotel.
