Perfect location near the central station. The room was nice and quiet (my wife is sensitive to noise and with closed windows we had no issues at all).
The reception is an interesting experience, as it might feel a bit creepy, but at the same time I enjoyed it a lot and it's definitely one of the highlights that I will remember :) Those are not some cheap gimmicks, but very well done and integrated in check in/out animatronics. Nothing special, but being done well, it provided us with a memorable experience :)

Rooms were a little small although neat and clean, and perfect for rest after a day of walking. The balcony was very welcome. Other facilities such as the lounges, coffee and tea facilities, music and drinks in the evenings, laundry, and bathing house were also very good. Proximity to Kyoto Railway Station was perfect.

Everything about this hotel is exceptional. I rarely give a 10/10 score, but this hotel deserves it. The only issue is that the room could have been bigger. I'm not sure if this one qualified as a 20 m2, as in another Japanese hotel of 20 m2, we felt we had more space.
