Awesome location, superb views. Room was really spacious and very clean. Design is dated, but it has it own charm. Location is perfect for Miyajima ferry. Breakfast was tasty.

Immaculate view from the room. Make sure to book the sea viewing rooms. You get to experience the Ryokan style stay. Private onsens are available too on prior booking. Need to book dinner and breakfast prior as well. For vegetarians - no dinner options. Breakfast is still manageable with salads and breads but nothing grand. Shuttle service is provided between the station and hotel.
Night cruise - Worth going for.
Many reviews highlight rude staff. On the contrary - they were really wanting to help. Language is a barrier and one needs to be patient. They all intend to help but we need to remember Miyajima is a small place - cannot get city like cosmo treatment.
Located on Miyajima (Itsukushima), Miyajima Guest House Mikuniya offers a Japanese-style accommodation and a small garden. Free Wi-Fi is available. Miyajima Ferry Terminal is a 20-minute walk away.

The room was quite large and quiet. The meals provided were very nice, they even took into account the request for no miso. We did not use the consent.

Japanese breakfast was great, memorable. Having the yakatas and free bar was a bonus. Roof top terrace was lovely, and with the blankets and private booths the whole area was very pleasant to relax in. Onsen was lovely.

We only stayed one night, but I wish we stayed 2-3.
We only stayed one night, but I wish we stayed 2-3. I left feeling like I only scratched the surface. Beautiful and peaceful place to unwind, especially after visiting the Peace Park Museum in Hiroshima.

It is a magic island where I would spend at least a couple of full days by sleeping in an authentic hotel with futon beds. If you can, i recommend to do the hiking of the main mountain (not difficult at all)

If you are an elderly Japanese teetotaller who likes simple food, an onsen and beautiful views this is the place for you!
If however, you also like your hotel to be multi generational, with a nice bar, good food and a welcoming atmosphere, this is definitely not the hotel for you.

We stayed 2 nights but wish we could have stayed longer.
We stayed 2 nights but wish we could have stayed longer. We took one whole day climbing the mountain, which was great but time consuming, so we ended up not seeing everything on our list. Keep in mind that the restaurants and bars close by 7 or 8 pm because all of the tourists leave the island around 5:30 pm. You really get to enjoy the beautiful island in peace and quiet in the morning and evening before the boats of tourists arrive. It was our favorite place we visited in Japan!

Miyajima Villa was the perfect escape!
Miyajima Villa was the perfect escape! Friendly, professional staff assisted us to get settled, offering umbrellas for the rain, assistance on getting around the Island, etc. The hotel even offers Onsen clothing and many other amenities for their guests! The hotel is conveniently located just steps from the ferry dock and the main streets to see the Tori Gate or the Itsukushima Shrine, the aquarium, to get to the Ropeway, trinket stores, ice cream stations, and so on. Our ocean room view had 2 oversized very comfy twin beds, a small couch, & desk. Loved the Toto Washlet in the toilet room! The bathtub while small was perfect for soaking after 5 hours of hiking. Lots of soft water and water pressure. The onsen (public bath) was just pure Heaven! :-) Sitting in the enclosed area in back of the hotel is just more of the escape and so worthwhile! :-)
Thankfully there was food available in the hotel (bakery, dinner, breakfast) because ALL food service in town STOPS AT 4:30pm! At least, it did while we were there. Our breakfast with Miyajima Villa was wonderful and very filling whether Japanese or American food.
High caution is advised if you plan to hike from the Ropeway, as we did. Trails are not well marked on all trails. However, the trail to the top of Mt Misen is well worthwhile! Hopefully, you are as fortunate as we were to see the Tori Gate at high & low tides as well as catching it at sunset, which brought out MANY PEOPLE. :-) :-) What a perfectly lovely island to spend some adventure time!

Beautiful island.
Beautiful island. Go early in the morning especialy if you want to climb the mountain. It's a pretty hard track, bu it's beautiful.
In the afthernoon it's to hot.
Lot of tourist in the afternoon and it's hard to have some dinner.
Stay there during the sunset: the shrine is beautiful!
Appreciate the simple dinner of curry rice, miso soup especially when most eateries close around 6pm. Plain bread, beverages for breakfast. Maybe because of the meals provided in the common room, guests tend to interact to exchange travel experiences which is good. Guesthouse is just 5min walk from the small but very lovely park during cherry blossoms season. A good option considering how expensive accomodation is on Miyajima island, Hiroshima.
Great Tradiational Japanese hotel, breakfast, and dinner included with the stay which is great om Miyajima Island, the food was truly amazing. Overall a great stay with great staff and gives you an opportunity to explore Miyajama Island after the tourist have left in the evening. There is also a shuttle service that takes you from the ferry station to the hotel. Hotels are also right outside the the Aquarium which was pretty cool.
We chose this hotel so that we could stay overnight on Miyajima. It was a perfect location, close to the ferry and eating establishments. The staff were friendly and efficient. The room was a reasonable size, clean and well appointed, with typical Japanese futon bedding. We had a nice view out to the hillside behind the hotel. The shower/bath was typical of most Japanese hotels. We ate a pleasant breakfast in the small foyer.
A nice traditional ryokan with the option for western type beds. Rooms were very big. Although the rooms were a bit dated, everything was clean. The onsen was great. Food was really good. Service was also great. Location is very good and close to the Itsukushima Shrine. I really recommend staying at the Miyajima Island. After the last ferry you have the island almost completely to yourself.
Amazing stay on Miyajima. This was the most pricey hotel of our trip and it was well worth it. The room was traditional with tatami and very comfortable futons. The Japanese dinner and breakfast were amazing. Plentiful dishes of fine quality, beautioful to look at and all delicious.
The staff were really nice and helpful too.
I highly recommend this place.
I haven't got much new to add to what other reviewers have mentioned about the hotel. However, we were very pleased that the hotel offered us an ad-hoc shuttle service to the ferry port, even though we had missed the final scheduled shuttle; we really appreciated this and it is worth mentioning here. I wish we had more time to stay for a second night.
The view from my sea-facing room...gorgeous! Clean spacious room with all the generous amenities.
I love the hotel onsen...clean and not crowded at all during the separate day/time I visited.
The shuttle bus provided is definitely helpful.
Tho Aki Grand Hotel is definitely far from Hiroshima major sightseeing spots, it's perfect for Miyajima daytrip.
Great hotel. We were free upgraded to room with tatami area. It was probably the best hotel so far in our Japan trip. The breakfast (Japanese and Western) were pretty great as well.
Overall Miyajima is a great place to stay for a few days to relax, and hike. This hotel makes it especially convenient.
Fantastic hospitality. Yoko, the owner, gave me a map of Miyajima and pointed out her recommendations for sights and restaurants. The property location was great. One street up from the main shopping street. Additionally, the private onsen is a very relaxing way to end the day.
beautiful hotel, super close to the JR ferry for miyajima. the view was awesome and the staff really cute. recommended if you plan to stay just one night in miyajima since it’s literally across the station AND the ferry. definitely coming back here
This apartment was bigger than most hotels on the island. With a full kitchen and private bathroom, this apartment was hands down the best for your money. The Hotel Villa Miyajima was right next door and they have a bar that stays open till 11pm.
Wonderful ryokan with beautiful views. Spacious, peaceful (very quiet), and comfortable. Very good food. Nice onsen facility. Convenient guest laundry. 15-minute walk from the pier and they also provide shuttles. Amazing overall!
Amazing hosts beautiful home and family the room I stayed in was very traditional and so lovely. They even dropped me off and picked me up as well as giving me lots of information about what to do on Miyajima Island and times 😊
Hotel is by the seaside and has good view from the room. A bit far from town but shuttle was readily available from tourist information center. Staff was extremely nice and polite throughout the stay and food was delicious!
Quiet, incredibly kind and accommodating staff, delicious dinner and breakfast, great location to access walking trails, private Ibsen on site, shuttle service to ferry, beautiful views of Miyajima harbor and village
Excellent location and the staff was superb. It is a no frills hotel but I would stay there without a doubt again. Also, referring anyone who is visiting Miyajima Island.
