Hotel La Dimora di Piazza Carmine, hotel in Ragusa

Set in Ragusa’s historic centre, Hotel La Dimora di Piazza Carmine is around 500 metres from the city’s cathedral. Rooms are elegant and air conditioned and come with an LCD TV and parquet floors.

We loved this place! Its an unpretentious small hotel that managed to surpass most of my expectations. Rooms are quite large and super comfortable with a really comfortable bed, nice crisp lines and great bathroom. Also totally spotless. We had a room on the first floor with a balocny overlooking a lovely square (but no view of Ibla) Location is great is you want to explore both Ibla nd Ragusa Superiore as it right between the two with a hidden path that leads you down to Ibla . Breakfast was also very good with a good selection including cannoli. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. 100% recommended and will be back.

Very good location to visit the Syracuse-Ortigia and the Baroque cities Modica- Ragusa-Sciccly and Noto. We where in Ragusa Ibla, very cozy old Baroque city with good restaurants ( even for Michelin Lovers there where 2 restaurants with stars ) For doing the tour of the Baroque cities you need a car and to driving and parking in the narrow streets you have to kbe not sressy and concentrated. Also good for your work out , there are many stairs up and down in the city.

Ragusa itself is a beautiful town and very walkable, I'd recommend three or four nights to do it justice. As a town it feels like tourism is an 'add-on' and therefore feels very genuine and Sicilian as are the restaurants all of which we thought were excellent. The only downside is the public transport, to go anywhere outside of Regusa we found to be quite a challenge as basically you have to rely on taxis, however maybe the transport issue is what has kept Regusa such a beautiful place so its not all bad!!!

Ragusa is an enchanting hill town in rural Sicily.

Ragusa is an enchanting hill town in rural Sicily. It is surrounded by steep gorges, with the town spreading up three steep linked hills. It's a fantastic place to spend a few hours exploring the narrow steep streets. We found some wonderful shops - intended for tourists, but good value. There were also fantastic eateries and the local people we interacted with all seemed charming and helpful. We ate dinner in La Bettola in Ragusa Ibla, which was delicious and great value.

Ragusa has two parts to it, the old and new. The old city is very beautiful and interesting to explore. The main street is fun with restaurants, shops and a park at the end with wonderful views of the valley and mountains beyond. We did not go up the hill to the new city however so we cannot characterize it.

I loved Ragusa, the roads are difficult with a larger vehicle but this shouldn’t put you off just research your routes and think about where accessible parking can be found. The new town is interesting but not touristy whilst the old town is a lovely labyrinth of medieval street and lanes with beautiful Baroque architecture. There are restaurants worth searching for and we particularly enjoyed the ‘5 senses’!

The location is great. It is in Ragusa Superiore close to the stairs to Ragusa Ibla. The house is beautiful and the room is very clean. The owner, Concetta is wonderful. She gave us a map of Ragusa and recommended us where to go. The breakfast is at her house and superb. Most of the things she bakes. She served 10 different jams she had prepared. Since I eat Gluten Free she bought me a GF bread and served different tasty cheeses and fruits. She gave us a pass to park the car close to the B&B for free. We had a wonderful stay.

I have been travelling throughout Sicily for a few weeks but arriving and staying in Ragusa, with Giorgio as my host, has been the best part of my whole time here in this beautiful country. Such a welcome he gave. So I quickly found my feet and relaxed into this gorgeous town in Sicily. Giorgio goes the extra mile, he is generous with his time and a delight to engage with. The accomodation was perfect. Comfortable, light, spacious and location was superb.

Beautifully designed contemporary B and B with an extremely comfortable bed. Marco is an exemplary host. He had a different gluten free breakfast for us every morning. His knowledge of history is wonderful and driving in Ragusa Ibla can be a bit stressful but we reached out to him and he came and met us so we could follow him to the B and B. It was one of the best B and B experiences we've had anywhere. Thank you Marco.

Great location. Close to the city center and around wonderful Resturants, bars, and close to the bus stop! The hotel used to be a castle I think the front desk girl said so that’s very interesting! The room for 130 euro and 150 usd for two nights, we thought we a deal! They also offered breakfast which is wonderful traveling through Sicily! The front desk woman was as helpful as she wanted to be!

The host was really helpful and the Interior was clean and tasteful. The location was close to many restaurants, in the heart of Ragusa Ibla, but also in a nice quiet street. Checking in was easy with parking close by. Our room had a great view and Diletta our host had great tips on wear to go to eat and shop. Ragusa Ibla is a must see when in Sicily. It is an absolute fairytale of a town.
