Hotel Punta Mesco is in a great location. It's near the center of Monterosso al Mare, but still accessible by car (and with free parking!). Once you're here, it's easy to access the train station to explore the other cities in Cinque Terre. The staff are amazing, and go out of their way to make sure your stay is great. The location, facilities and it's near to the beach.
This is the place to stay if you have young kids. We travelled with our 5 and 7 year old and we couldn't have picked a better place to go! Of the five towns, Monterosso al Mare has the best flat beaches that allowed my kids to skip rocks, search for sea glass and play in the water safely.
Very near the water is a playground that was clean and well taken care of. There were nice shops in the square with clean bathrooms and yummy treats we could snack on while the kids played.
A lot of people said that Monterosso wasn't as charming as the other towns, but it was pretty charming in the old part as we walked the streets nestled up past the playground.
We came in April and lucked out with weather. I could see how in the Summer it could get crowded and hot, but we felt like the crowds were minimal and the temperature was perfect.

Great town to stay at cinque terre if you come with familly.
Great town to stay at cinque terre if you come with familly. Was not all that touristy all things considered (as opposed to Vernazza, which was swarming with tourists). I would suggest to go out of season, because there is already a lot of people there (we went late november), I can't imagine what its like in July/august.

Excellent food and Gelato everywhere.
Excellent food and Gelato everywhere. The croissants for breakfast are amazing and fresh. Make sure you get the the restaurants by the ocean for sunset. You don't need to eat there as it's very expensive and the lineups can be up to 2 hrs if you don't make a reservation a day or 2 in advance but the views for sunset are definitely worthwhile going and getting pictures. Make sure you bring mosquito repellent because the time we were there, we were getting eaten alive. The house flies were also extremely bad everywhere but according to the locals, it was never bad lime that before. It was just bad luck. Just maybe bring a very light long sleeve shirt and a light pair of pants because it's also still close to 28 degrees in the middle of Oct when we were there. Nonetheless, it was amazing.

The hotel is right on the beach and the sound of the sea was fantastic! Breakfast was indeed a welcome pleasure, outside in the fresh sea air. One thing that was not so comfortable was being on the third floor (4 stories up) without the use of the elevator which was explained to us to be only for "wheelchair passengers and luggage." The trek up for a 77 year old and another with a pacemaker was truly a task to be worthy of a wheelchair. Perhaps Handicap means something else in Italy, but "unseen" ones should also count.
Loved the location right on the beach. Couldn't believe we got a huge deck outside our room overlooking the promenade and beach. This hotel was a converted house originally built 100 years ago or so. We rented 1 of its 2 rooms. My husband could have stayed out there forever! Montorossa has everything: great beach, old town, hiking, lit promenade for evening stroll, shopping and great restaurants. Manual was very gracious, friendly and informative. We would highly recommend staying here!!!
Location is perfect to visit the Cinque Terre if coming by car: the hotel is easily accessible from main roads and not inside Monterosso, and offers shuttle service to reach the town. You can then enjoy the Cinque Terre with the frequent train service. The room has been renovated recently and offer good bedding and bathroom in a quiet environment. The staff is exceptionally kind and helpful, and we felt like staying with family. Breakfast is generous and perfect to start a hiking day.
It was the best accommodation ever! Cherry was very sweet with us! We felt that we were at home. She picked us up at the train station and warmly welcomed us at her hotel!
The breakfast was really good! The rooms and bathroom were very clean and the view of our balcony was outstanding! I strongly recommend this hotel, it was more than a room ..It was an incredible experience in Monterosso! Thanks Cherry for your kindness!
We stayed in Cinque Terre for 3 nights and were SO happy with our choice to stay at the Hotel Stella Della! Gabriele was such a incredible host! We loved Monterosso and Gabriele had given us amazing recommendations for hikes and dinner spots around the area. We will definitely be staying at the Hotel Stella Della when we visit the area again and we will be sure to recommend it to anyone who visits Cinque Terre!
Loved the space and the outdoor area and my balcony. It was great. Breakfast is simple but more than enough for me and my family. The scheduled shuttle to take u down to the village and up back to the hotel every hour. It was great from the hotel you can see most of the Cinque terre from the hotel. The staff are great and helpful
The owner and her staff were delightful and very helpful. The room was pretty tight but we expect to be cramped in Italy hotels. The towels were very scratchy. All in All a charming, if not elegant, hotel located in the heart of Monterosso. And it is the only town in Cinque Terra that you can drive to.
Such a charming place! Staff was super friendly, breakfast was great and the room exceeded our expectations. It was plenty spacious and very clean! The outdoor space and garden areas above were amazing. So convenient being right in the heart of Monterosso! We would highly recommend this hotel!
This apartment was the highlight of our trip to Italy! The location was perfect, right in the middle of the most amazing little town I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting. It made us feel like locals. If I ever get back to Cinque Terre again, I hope I’m able to book the same place! Wonderful.
Great hotel in great location. There is a small refrigerator and tea pot in the room. The owner Albergo is very friendly, he gave us all the information about Monterosso and Cinque Terre, he helped us a lot. We are very thankful and definitely recommend this hotel for everyone.
Location absolutely can not be beat! Not only do you have the perfect view to relax and appreciate the ocean, it was very convenient to be on the beach and not have to haul around items or pay for a public toilet and we could head back for a quick lunch.
Hotel is cozy and in a great location in Monterosso. Breakfast provides everything you need. The room was a little small but was very clean and perfect for a solo traveler. The bathroom was beautiful and I love that they provided a safe and a minifridge.
Right on the beach with great views and many restaurants at the doorstep. It was a great place to base ourselves for the Cinque Terre walks. Checkin was a little complicated - needing to find a hotel uo the hill where checkin is done.
It was a charming hotel very close to the main beaches in Monterosso, and location in walking distance of the train station. The breakfast included in stay was great food and coffee. The room was clean and air conditioning was needed.
We loved this hotel. Beautiful views of Monterosso from our balcony, very clean spacious room, really nice breakfast and a lovely little bar serving coffee and drinks!
By far the rental apartment that had more space compared to other apartment or hotels we have been to during our vacation in Italy.
