Holt Villa, hotel in Reykholt

Located in Reykholt in the West Iceland region, Holt Villa has a garden. The property features inner courtyard and quiet street views, and is 43 km from Bjarnafoss.

Holt Villa is a truly luxurious home and had everything we could possibly need. The decor was stylish yet comfortable and the layout worked really well for our group. Both bathrooms were fitted out like a luxury spa with high end toiletries provided and quality towels and high speed hairdryers. The kitchen was beautiful and well thought out as a practical cooking space, there was a coffee machine with Nespresso style pods provided. The location was ideal for a full day excursion around the Snaefellness Peninsula with whale watching from Olafsvik and there was also plenty to see and do nearby, including beautiful waterfalls of Barnafoss and Hraunfossar, the lava tube and glacier tour from Husafell, a scoria cone (small volcano) to climb at Grábrók by Bifrost and even the Krauma hot springs with geothermal baths and a lovely restaurant. Reykholt itself is a pretty village, perfect to walk around after dinner and to learn about its place in Icelandic history. We had a wonderful time at Holt Villa, it was the perfect base to explore this part of Iceland and we cannot thank our hosts enough for providing such a beautiful property that made our holiday so relaxing and special.

There are 2 Reyhkolts in Iceland and this is the more westerly one (the other is on the Golden Circle to the south). We visited Vidgelmir, the lava tube, and it was fabulous! It's cold inside so dress warmly. The guides were all geologists who specialize in this kind of formation and were knowledgeable about both geology and the history of the tube. Krauma geothermal baths and restaurant: the baths were expensive and we didn't go but the restaurant served great food (also expensive as is all food in Iceland).

Well maintained and updated farmhouse overlooking the valleys of Reykholt. Had a fun breakfast with the hostess/owner and other guests - chatting about our experiences and home countries. My room was charming and comfortable with farmhouse decor. Really appreciated the cluster of multiple bathrooms and showers for the guests. There is a hot tub on the balcony. Always enjoy seeing dogs on the premises.

You can make a great meal in the kitchen and the relax outside looking at an incredible view with a glass of wine. The perfect place to unwind. Excellent blinds for bright summer nights. Lots of great hiking and natural attractions to see. Recommend checking out the tours organized by Hotel Husafell

We found this guest house to be a genuine jewel in this part of iceland. There is something quite special About this place it's set in a picturesque valley that oozes serenity. We arrived frazzled from .missing a days holiday after s disastrous time at Schiphol airport, and this syay was just what we needed. It's minutes from the gorgeous Krauma thermal pools which we loved.

The cottage was lovely, warm and cosy, a perfect bolt hole from the Icelandic weather. The location was brilliant - wonderful views across the valley to the mountain ranges beyond. The host was very friendly and welcoming, even making time to show us the sheep and lambs!

The staff were helpful and really nice. The dinner is a must, tried both the Lamb and the Beef and both were delicious. We were a party of 4 and we all agreed that the Lamb is a masterpiece and the best dish we had in Iceland in the last two weeks we are here

Adorable. Really loved it there. Don’t mind people saying it’s dirty, it’s really not, it’s just a very typical summer cottage in the countryside - they are popular in Iceland so come here for an authentic summer (or winter) night :)

The fact that they served dinner. The weather was awful; the hotel is not close to anything. So being able to have dinner at the hotel was great. And the food was good.
