Pécs is a lovely place in Hungary with an expansive cultural heritage. The Cathedral, Széchenyi square and Zsolnay quarter are just a few of the must see spots. You can have very good food and wine (or beer) in Király street. If you're feeling adventurous, Mecsek has the most amazing trails But even if you don't have whole day for hiking just make sure to visit Tettye and walk up to the observatory there. Pécs is doable by foot most of the times, but has very accessible bus service as well. You can buy tickets on the bus with cash (forint). Make sure to check the actual events (and book in advance) to experience the street market vibes, when all the best wineries of Hungary and traditional food stalls represent themselves. See you in Pécs!

Pecs is a terrific little picturesque town with heaps of interesting churches, a mosque, a synagogue, museums and ancient burial sites. Most things are very close by. On Sunday everything is closed except cafes and it's like a ghost town which is good for avoiding hordes of tourists. Pecs is neat as a pin and would probably win a tidy town contest. There's plenty of food places and our favorite was the Korheli pub. I'm glad we chose to stop here for a couple of nights.

Not a crowded city, plenty of things to see. Older waiters and cashiers don't really speak foreign languages, even basic stuff was hard to convey to them, so have that in mind. Younger ones are more fluent in that department.

Many of the sights -- the Csontvary Museum, the Cathedral, in particular, are within easy walking distance of the Fonix hotel, where I stayed. The city is the home of a university, so the streets were filled with students and other young people. My trip was a Wednesday day trip by train from Budapest, so other than the main sights and the fact that the performance in the theatre was a one-man show in Hungarian, which I do not speak, I regret not having planned another, full day. It's a beautiful city, has great restaurants, and quite a few things to do. There are good places particularly for Italian food and seafood amazingly in this very landlocked city. Plenty of quirky places to visit such as the cat cafe and the mosque church.

Lots of history in this tiny little town. Beautiful historic downtown with great restaurants, bakeries to die for. Roman ruins all over Pecs, St. Istvan tee with beautiful cathedral. On both occasions she was extremely graceful and accomodating. The apartment itself was perfectly clean, the kitchen was stocked with coffee, tea, spring water and even a complimentary bottle of wine. The location is lively at night but the apartment was perfectly quiet and I had a great rest. Will be looking up Nóra next time I'm in Pécs!AndrewHungary

Everything was very clean and there was a nice kitchen, if you need to have a basic breakfast or dinner. The host was a very lovely lady, that did not speak English, but we did not have any problem in understanding each other. Parking is available on Szabadsag Utca, there are parking meters at hand (card or coins) - the price is good.

When you step outside the hotel you find your sell on a street that has great restaurants, coffee shops, and bars, even the shopping mall Arkad is located nearby.
