Martina and Brendan were absolutely fantastic hosts. Friendly and engaging, nothing was too much trouble for them. The Nook, hotel in Rostrevor

Situated in Rostrevor, the recently renovated The Nook features accommodation 33 km from Carlingford Castle and 34 km from Proleek Dolmen.

The Nook is a hidden treasure at the rear of a private home in a quiet street. It is a very spacious and newly furnished room with a fabulous new bathroom. It has a well equipped kitchenette and the washing machine is a real bonus for travellers on a long trip. We were welcomed with a lovely handwritten greeting from the host's granddaughter and fresh flowers in our room. The TV is a great size and has Netflix. Although breakfast is not mentioned as being included, we were provided with fresh sourdough bread, butter, jam and tea and coffee. Fresh milk is also provided. This is probably one of the best B&B's we have stayed in during our four weeks in Ireland.

Rostrevor is tucked into the base of the Mourne Mountains and the mountain never leaves you...Behind each roof top is a lovely green mountain framing your experience and calling to you to come back. You can walk everywhere and get right up onto the mountain right away. The food is fresh and coastal and moderately priced. The Folk Music is some of the best I've found anywhere.

Lots of great places to eat, including The Church and The Kilbroney. Enjoy the fairy trail and walk round Kilbroney forest park and take in the Narnia trail. Take a trip on the ferry to Carlingford and enjoy some oysters or fresh fish. Enjoy ice cream in nearby Warrenpoint.

The Shower had adequate disabled access.

The Shower had adequate disabled access. Ate at the Rostrevor inn on the first night & the following morning. Both meals were of very poor quality & using the worst quality ingredients & cooked by a chef with no taste buds, as it was bland. Breakfast was no better, if anything it was inedible. poor quality produce used including basic grade condiments. The Rostrevor charges the highest prices for the worst quality food. presented like it was gourmet fayer. Wetherspoons serve better food I suggest you find the nearest one & stay clear of this establishment. On any other visit I would stay in a tent in a field & get better service & tastier food.

The location is set in a lovely quaint location in the hills just a few minutes drive from Rostrevor village. The pods were clean and all utencils needed were avaliable in a communal kitchen. The staff were absolutely excellent and went above and beyond to answer our questions or make recommendations for activities to do or where to get a good bite to eat!

The breakfast was very hearty and locally sourced. We sat in front of a large glass window, framed by vines tinted with autumn's beginning color, as we overlooked the bay. The quiet room was invitingly decorated with delicate wild flowers from the area. It was a glorious way to wake up and will be missed by us all.
