The Real Tenerife!
Known as the ‘real Tenerife’, San Miguel de Abona is a hidden gem of the Canary Islands and an ideal base for touring Tenerife. It has contrasting landscapes of traditional wooden terraces, rocky ridges, volcanic mountains, and valleys lined with vegetation.

If you want to rest and relax this is the place for you.
If you want to rest and relax this is the place for you. There are no nightclubs and not a noisy place. Only thing I would recommend if flying with Ryanair arrive 3 hours prior to flight if you want to get food and make purchases. They only have 3 checkin desks for all flights and they let the nearest flight skip the queue even though they are late. Checkin with luggage takes at least 1.5 hours. Security is quite fast. Sort of long walk to gate and a passport control to get through to our gate after security. Ryanair at fault. Not airport.MaireadIreland - 10Scored 10

We love this resort as it has everything you need and the selection of bars and restaurants is fabulous. San blas square has something for everyone and we particularly enjoyed a lovely meal at Old Fasioned at the top square. I loved the well equipped spacious apartment central location .. great hosts… handy for a local bar 1.5 euro a pint! within walking distance to marina.. submarine experience. handy for San Blas (square).. entertainment… Lovely Tapas Restaurant’ Abierto’ just outside the main square… sign up for ‘TipsyTapas’ .., M/T/W/T all you can drink for 4 hrs … plus food dishes .., 22 Euro … Happy Days especially if it’s cloudy! Lots of good places to eat and drink out good supermarkets, prices very good. Great places to walk. Did not like the amount of dog shit that owners did not pick up after their dogs. Lazy and discusting.

We have been to this area 3 times now, I cannot fault it !!!! Its quite with enough shops & restaurants not too far to go to aqualand a couple of the big shopping places in car or bus trips , 2 small marina's in this area both lovely I no one definite does boat trips & submarine trips. Accommodation was perfect. Very relaxing holiday. Pool was calm and the pool bar was exceptional. Amazing place if you want a calm holiday. However it took 5 minutes by taxi to get somewhere slightly lively and 15 minutes from Siam Park and Las America.SARAH

The outside patio and seating areas were very nice to enjoy breakfast or a drink. The location in Tenerife is good - not far from the airport, beaches and to drive into the mountains. There are many local bars and restaurants in San Miguel. Parking was also easy on the road outside the hotel, we could always find a space. Lovely crisp rolls for breakfast with home made preserves. We had a dinner and breakfast, everything was very delicious and we want to say it’s very worthy to go there! staffs were very friendly and helpful! Definitely 5 star hotel and staying at Barceló made me feel very special during this travel!!

Beautiful garden and pool, as well as outdoor seating on the balcony which we used almost every day. The property itself is very pretty, with traditional features and decor. Everything you could need is provided, including dressing gowns, beach towels, hairdryer, iron etc. The owners are amazing people and were so generous, they really couldn’t do enough for us and we absolutely loved our stay!

We were able to establish the Internet, which then worked well. the location is excellent, beautiful, in the middle of beautiful nature just a stone's throw away. We stayed in a Studio with Ocean view, which was fantastic and provided more than enough room for us. The meal facilities were also excellent, plenty of choice at each meal time and good variety over the 12 days that we stayed. We were able to pick up WiFi throughout the resort and the quality was good enough for us to have video calls back to the UK without interruption.
