The staff is very friendly and helpful, whether via mail or at reception. Very comfy bed and covers! We had a very good and quiet room; no noise from outside. Loved that we could get tea and coffee at night from the reception area, to take up to our room. So very good stay!

Coole Lage - tolle Ausstattung- sehr nettes Personal
I am very disappointed with this hotel. I arrived at 0.30 a.m. and the hotel was closed and no one opened for me. It was not stated on booking.com or on the hotel's website that the reception is closed from 10:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. and it is not possible to check in. It was also stated on the website that it is possible to cancel the reservation free of charge, but they charged me 49 euros for nothing and I had to find another hotel in the night and pay for it!. Very unprofessional service!

Wuppertal is a beautifull city surrounded by hills.
Wuppertal is a beautifull city surrounded by hills. The city is mostly known for the Schwebebahn. A hanging train that goes through the city as a metro but hangs mostly above the Wupper river. The city center is large and offers a lot of nice stores and restaurants.
Located next to Wuppertal is Solingen a city known for the Haribo candy factory and knifes factories (hence the name Solinger knives).
Take a ride along the Schwebebahn to Wuppertal Vohwinkel, you will pass the Wuppertal Zoo and stadion. From Vohwinkel take the Trolleybus line 683 to Solingen and you will pass along Haribo factory and different museums.

The only plus point for Wuppertal is the unique Scwebebahn suspended monorail. Well worth a ride. The place itself has deprived and dilapidated post industrial vibe, with older retired heavy industry workers and younger immigrants from all over. A fair amount of drunken/drugged indigents on the streets of the city centre.

Well if you are interested in Countryside and History then this valley of Wupper is a great place to visit. The industrial beginnings of Modern Germany pretty much starts here. We came because the suspension railway was on my bucket list. It really is a sensational marvel. We will probably come back... Even if it wasn't for this memorable trip on the Schwebebahn the town has hills and museums, an opera house and a good zoo. Oh the food is good too, try the X Kebab, a wonderful modern twist on Turkish cuisine served by the friendliest of staff...

Wuppertal schwebebahn is an awesome cheap way to explore the city. There is a lot to see and also great places to eat, like Hans im Gluck and L'Osteria and also good hiking opportunities in the surrounding hills.

Wuppertal had very few activities to do.
Wuppertal had very few activities to do. It is more of a place for relaxing in a valley while still staying in touch with the civilisation. The suspended tram was a great attraction and it was a great experience to ride on it.
We were pleased with our stay at Hotel Astor. We arrived by train, so its location very close to the main train station suited us well. Although we arrived 1 1/2 hours before check-in time, the staff welcomed us and allowed us to check in early. Our room was clean and comfortable, we enjoyed a plentifiul hot breakfast, and the wifi worked well. The hotel also provided free VRR tickets that allowed us to ride the Schwebebahn. Best of all, Hotel Astor offered great value.
The host was easily available to hand over the keys upon our arrival and he gave us a little tour through the apartment. He had thought of so many details to make us feel welcome and comfortable in Wuppertal (mini Haribo on each pillow, check out very easy and quick, ample space to park car, well-stocked kitchen and bathroom etc.). It was very clear that he enjoyed being a host. We would stay again if we needed a place near Dusseldorf Airport. Thank you!
Very nice modernized old stylish hotel. We had a very spacious room on the 3rd floor with a very large bathroom and a large shower that is not typical in Europe. Excellent breakfast with made to order eggs in a very nice glass enclosed breakfast room. One of the best hotels we ever stayed at in the 13 European countries we have visited and 50+ hotels. Parking on site. We stayed in Ronsdorf to explore the city that my father and ancestors were born in.
This is a beautiful small hotel right in the centre of Wuppertal, 5min walk from the main train station with many nice restaurants around. I stayed there with a family of friends and two more colleagues for a conference that we were organising. I particularly liked the exceptionally good breakfast, which offered many tasty choices also for me as vegetarian. The rooms were nice, clean and well equipped.
The hotel is located in a nice area, very central but also quiet. The room was very comfortable and pretty large. Good bathroom. Everything was clean. The personnel is friendly, helpful and efficient. The breakfast is amazingly good. A wide variety of very nice and tasty food. Parking a car in garage of the opposite building is a bit tricky but worked well with the advice of the front desk.
The Hotel is having central location (in the center of the city), and it is proving a very good parking solution. Moreover, we get tickets for the public transportation for the period of the stay in the hotel, which we were very surprised and unexpected. The staff at the reception (especially the old man) is well informed, friendly and very kind.
If you are visiting Wuppertal with the specific interest in visiting its famous monorail - there is no better location than this Hotel. Very modern hotel, with very well equipped rooms, and very roomy compared to other European Hotel rooms. A very large dining area that is not cramped at all - very American in scale.
Staff on Reception were great, fantastic service. The hotel is lovely, nice bar/ breakfast area and room was comfy and quiet with a good view of the city.
Breakfast good, staff efficient and friendly. Really good value for money plus lots of water available during the hot weather though out the hotel - nice touch!
Overall very good price/quality ratio. The room was very clean and warm, the furniture was new and in good condition. The hotel was quiet. The location is very near from the city center by foot, by bus and by the suspension train. The staff was so kind to wait for me as I checked in very late due to a train delay.
great location across from central rail station and bus terminal. Hotel changed names again recently and has become a cashless enterprise.
Close to restaurants and shopping mall. They kept the local transit pass for one’s stay, a big bonus. Breakfast options very good and endless
All the facilities were on the doorstep. Right in the center of wuppertal town, and the train station is a couple of minutes walk. Perfect location.
The apartment was fully furnished, including microwave, kettle, and stove.
I would definitely recommend this apartment.
Hotel seem to be renovated, and is very clean and fresh. The breakfast is also very fresh, with all the essentials. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Location is an easy 10 min walk from trainstation and all the downtown shopping area.
Super new and modern hotel with very comfortable, fully-equipped and spacious rooms. The breakfast (which was included) was also really tasty and left nothing to be desired. Location close to Wuppertal station was especially convenient.
Wuppertal is beautiful city, apartment was cosy and near the centre of the city. Apartment had everything I needed for my 4 weeks stay. There were grocery stores just across the street. Host was helpful and friendly.
Very spacious and comfortable apartment. Nice big rooms and modern bathroom. Very light and convenient to the city of Wuppertal. Well furnished and good modern smart TV. Comfortable bed and spacious bedroom
The hotel is located at the heart of Wuppertal whish was pretty convenient for my stay as I needed to travel Dusseldorf HBF daily basis due to my exhibition.
spacious, bright, quiet room of modern decor., very clean. well placed and good number of electricity outlets, wich is not the norm even in pricier hotels.
