A very jolly town, clearly doing quite well. All the locals we spoke to were friendly and helpful, particularly the tourist Info in centre of town. Went mid October and weather can be a factor. Wanted to get a tour of volcano and park rangers closed the road due to deep snow. Rest of town was nice to walk and stroll around. People were very friendly and helpful.

Very beautiful city and surroundings.
Very beautiful city and surroundings. There are a lot of places and natural wonders to visit, any tourist would be impressed. Puerto Varas has a rich history which would amaze any curious mind. I arrived by bus since there are no flights between intermediate cities in Chile and it was very disappointing to find out that there is no proper bus terminal. My bus arrived at 5 am and we had to sit in the floor until a taxi appeared and he took us to the only 24h store in the city, which would only sell through a small window. We had to sit down again on the floor until the sun came out.

Most beautiful city of Chile so far! Convenient transport from the Airport, very beautiful lake view of the volcano, felt safe. Much better place to stay than Puerto Montt, if you are deciding between those two.

This is a gorgeous city, surrounded by so many things to do.
This is a gorgeous city, surrounded by so many things to do. You can go ski to the Osorno Volcano and spend a full day there. Saltos del Petrohue are so beautiful that you can stay half day there. And going south to Chiloé is something you need to do.

Breakfast was in the main hotel with a buffet that was incredible - a variety of foods including great gluten free options. Breakfast was also available for a wide range of time so one could get up early or sleep in late. We also enjoyed a dinner at the hotel. There was ample free parking for our rental car and being out of town means you can get onto the main roads easily. The room was clean and big with a good hot shower. The location is also very close to the meeting point where we need to take the Andean Lake Crossing early in the morning from Puerto Varas to Barilochi. Hotel front desk staff is pretty good, especially the gentleman who speaks English. He was extremely helpful and gave us a lot of good suggestions. The included breakfast is also very good.

The hotel is located 10 minutes away from downtown (if walking you'll go up a slope, nothing terrible but might be a problem for elderly) and located in a very quiet area, despite being super close to everything. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was complete, with service to the table in a very efficient fashion. The rooms and bed were comfy.
