We chose Zermatt for a family ski vacation in late season and chose a chalet close to the Matterhorn Express station. We enjoyed the skiing, and on mountain dining at Chez Vrony, and Gitz-Gädi Restaurant. To get around Zermatt we utilized taxi, busses and walking. Since there are no cars it is exceptionally pedestrian friendly. Do note that free bus system closes at 7:30pm so if you stay out late you will need to walk for pay for expensive taxi. Since our chalet we had a kitchen and chose to shop at the market and prepare many of our meals which is cheaper than eating out.Steve M - Go Bears!United States - 10Scored 10

Zermatt is an excellent ski resort and has a lot of accommodation options. The best way to travel to the resort from other parts of Switzerland is by train. The skiing was wonderful. Zermatt is a pretty little ski/resort town. It is high-end - shopping and dining. Lift tickets, though, are about half the price of similar large resort like Vail or Aspen. Facilities and lifts are very good. If you're looking for well groomed, cruiser slopes, I would say that this not your place. However, there are some interesting things for non-skiers: rent a sled or a dog team, there are trains to tops of some of the mountains with nice restaurants on top. It would also be an excellent location for summer travel.

We previously stayed in Zermatt and therefore knew the village as being very good. Lovely vibrant main street with lots of eating venues. Our recent visit was only for one night to board the Glacier Express. Hotels provide transfers to all parts of the town eg. Railway station and ski bahnhof. Ultimately, an exciting, vibrant town.

Make sure to get the very top floor and a balcony room facing Matterhorn, its the best view and the room you can ever have. It is 5-10mins walking distance from the Zermatt station which is very convenient. The service and the breakfast was good as well. Overall it was worth the money and definitely recommended to go for this hotel if its available. I surely will come back here in the future.

You can see there a Zermatt train going to Gornegrat :-) How often do You get a fireplace, cable TV and soundbar music in apartment ? All of the devices and equipment were the best quality. One of the best things was that each of four bedrooms had a private bathroom :-) We also got a private sauna ! Ski room and boots dryer was avaliable. Monique has a lot of love and passion for her hotel and her guests and it shows through in every aspect of this wonderful hotel. We stayed in the best room with a view of the matterhorn and she made sure we were happy. Her bar was always packed and it is low season and her restaurant full (again low season). Her food was exceptional and the service outstanding!! You must stay here on your next trip to Zermatt.
