Halls Haven Holiday Units, hotel in Halls Gap

Located on 50 acres, Halls Haven Holiday Units features a swimming pool, tennis court and free bike hire. All rooms feature cooking facilities and a private patio.

The units were comfortable, sound proof walls, beautiful grounds with pond and fountain. Daily feeding of farm animals on property. There is a mob of kangaroos and pretty faced wallabies that surround the units and property in the evenings. They have numerous ducks that enjoy their pond. There is a resident peacock that is very curious of guests. The location is very convenient to Halls gap, however not right in the middle of all the activity and people. The views and quietness of the property is excellent. I would stay here again and recommend to other travelers.

Love nature so enjoyed visiting MacKenzie Falls which has paths to viewing points for people of all abilities; even has a “resident” emu! Plenty of places for hiking. Halls Gap Zoo is a fabulous place to visit with so many birds and animals to see and interact with. Good choice of places to eat - we particularly thought The Kookaburra Hotel and the Halls Gap Hotel Bistro were particularly good with great food, great service, great atmosphere and great staff. Avoid Halls Gap Tavern at all costs! Plenty of accommodation options in most price ranges (best to avoid Kookaburra Lodge Motel if you want value for money and want even the bare minimum of housekeeping!) Basic shopping centre … but they DO have great ice cream and tasty fish and chips available there and a big playground for families with younger children. Beware the kangaroos as you drive around, they are everywhere at any given time of the day. Beautiful place to relax and enjoy.

Absolutely stunning, it had been years since i was there last and once again the friendliness of all the staff at the shops and attractions around could not be faulted. Let alone the food options in and around Halls Gap - Barneys Barn - Pomonel Estate , Indian , boutique beers and ciders, there are so many , you will never go hungry. The local Zoo is a highlight- go the extra mile and book a animal experience - Red Pandas are adorable. Halls Gap is a gem of Victoria and is well worth the visit. There is something there for everyone, you can be as active or as relaxed as you prefer.

The Grampians National Park is excellent for walking and hiking at any time of the year. Halls Gap has a variety of accommodation types from camping to higher end. There are various places to eat, from usual so-so pub food to good quality food including vegan. We are at the Kookaburra which had excellent food (including vegetarian) served with delicious vegetables rather than chips and The Spirit of Punjabi which always serves excellent food (by robot now!). It also has a range of delicious vegan dishes. If you are into art and creativity check out Grampians Textures and Grampians Brushes - both are packed full of excellent workshops.

There are enough shops and bars for a short stay, and the location is excellent for exploring the trails in the area. The tourist information centre was helpful but wasn't quite up to speed with some trail closures which appear.tto have been made some time ago. Overall Halls Gap is a great place to stay for an adventure break.

    I love the Grampians.

I love the Grampians. Lots of lovely walks and scenery and Halls Gap has great restaurants. Unfortunately the cultural centre is closed and sone of the galleries in the areas were not open . But the wineries are worth a visit and certainly the Hall’s Gap pub. Excellent chef with great food and views .

We booked the log cabin for our family of 5. It was lovely but could do with a deep clean. Carpet looked very dirty, floors were so dirty that kids feet or white socks had black bottoms. Bathroom quite dated and could do with some attention. Good kitchen facilities and the most amazing location in Halls Gap. Bunk beds incredibly uncomfortable, just worn in foam mattresses. The queen bed very firm and my parent's struggled to have a good sleep. Location was the winner here for us and the reception staff very friendly and helpful.

what did we like? everything! the cabins are amazing. we could have stayed there so much longer than the 2 nights we had. the overall design, fireplace, furniture, beds, outdoor spa bath, dvds, kitchen set up, views...you name it....it's perfect. Our host was generous with an upgrade too. this place is a winner. easy keyless entry...so close to halls gap and spectacular walks. we loved hiking knowing we were coming back in the afternoon to our spectacular lodge. we ended up cooking and staying in because the room was so nice!!

I loved the location- behind Barney’s hotel which had the most yummy parmas. Loved how quiet the area was with only 6 cottages in total. Loved the setup of the rooms, and all the details. The kids loved the complimentary biscuits, it’s the small details that count. Couldn’t fault it and in fact are planning to come back later in the year with another family as well. Just loved waking up to the kangaroos at your doorstep and a kids playground right next to where we stayed.

The room was good for the price we paid. We were in a family room one double bed and one bunk bed. The double bed had a surprise electric blanket on the mattress which was much appreciated. Although the bunk beds were seriously dated and the bottom bunk was very claustrophobic. All in all, it was a good stay would recommend it. The location is great. The staff were great as we arrived late they waited up for us.

Friendly staff & people in the near by accommodation. Got to see alot of Australian wildlife around the room in the afternoon. was able to leave the car, and take the easy 5 min walk to the middle of Halls Gap and was able to do the hikes from the D'Altons. Ngaire was very friendly when checking in and provided alot of information about what to do in Halls Gap and the surrrounding areas.

The cabins were clean and comfortable, and had everything we needed. We loved the fact that the extensive grassed area behind the cabins was visited by lots of Australian wildlife - we saw emus, kangaroos, native ducks, parrots, kookaburras. All wild, in their natural environment. Plus the views of the cliffs were just spectacular, and changed throughout the day as the sun moved.

Great location, wildlife at you door... almost. Really great sized cabins that contain all you need for a few days or even a weeks stay. The layout of the cabin is really good too, easy to find the bathroom in the middle of the night. Beds were good. Place was clean. Bring in food but Halls Gap has heaps of places to eat and a small supermarket so it's not remote in that sense.

Perfect little spot to unwind with the kids! The heated pool was perfect for our winter getaway, the playground and tennis court and the wildlife visiting in the morning were enough to make the kids day. Only a short drive to the Halls Gap Zoo also and extremely close to the Halls Gap Hotel for dinner. Such a convenient location and we will be back for sure!

Location perfect, house was set in a quiet tree studded street, very picturesque. Close to the town but felt like we were secluded. The spa bath was a welcome extra after long days hiking. Hosts rang to let us know the drive was damaged by the rains but we could still use it. Allowed us early check in. We'll be back.

The townhouse is spacious with everything you need. There is a private parking space and the outdoor area is very good with comfy chairs. The lounges were also comfy. There is a restaurant within walking distance and the town is only a short drive away. Such a pity the emu's didn't come to greet us.
