Cordoba is a good example of what happens when you don't...
Cordoba is a good example of what happens when you don't have good urban planning. There are some beautiful buildings here and there but there is no real old centre even thought the city was founded in 1573--450 years ago--and has the oldest university in the country! Instead one finds high rises built helter skelter and so there is no harmony to the city. Also, most of the facades are blackened by dirt and pollution. We took a city tour by bus but the narrator had little to say in English compared to the Spanish version. It was not worth the expense. The people, however, are lovely and friendly and the cost of eating is low for tourists with US dollars. If we ever come back, it will be to visit the many attractions in the province, which will require renting a car. I advise you to go online to see what to do and see in the city.

Very nice historic centre.
Very nice historic centre. Also very nice art galleries and museums. Found some good restaurants and cafes. Visited Alta Gracia and the Che Guevara museum. Only off putting thing was Neuva Cordoba although pleasant full of bars and nightclubs which make sleeping difficult.

Cordoba is the 2nd largest city in Argentina and has seven universities so the population is pretty young. It is a great city to walk in as it has several pedestrian only streets through the downtown.
I recommend the City Tour Bus to get a sense of the central area. Many great cafes and restaurants. Several museums and art galleries worth seeing. Taxis are everywhere and cheap for US visitors. The exchange rate is changing daily so get your money in an ATM early in the day as they run out.

CordUnfortunately, most museums, galleries and even churches (even the historic temples) are only open in the afternoon. The surrounding villages are beautiful.oba is a city with relatively few tourist attractions, but it is a truly youthful, vibrant city.

Wonderful colonial centre; fabulous cafes and pedestrian walkways. A great student vibe. Highly recommend. Would also recommend taking the bus to Alta Gracia and visiting the Che Guevara museum and Jesuit estancia.
The apartment is hosted in an old, renovated building with a lot of character (stylishly vintage).
Everything was clean and tidy, and the landlady handed me over the keys in person -it was very easy to communicate with her-. The apartment has 2 air-con units , which were a blessing in the late-summer heat of Cordoba. There is also a lovely patio balcony outside to chill out in the evening.
Plenty of supermarkets and stores in the neighbourhood, and the center is at less than 15 minutes walk.
Y111 feels like home...every member of the staff makes you feel welcome, comfortable, safe. The rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast is exceptional: there's something for all tastes. I've been lucky enough to taste some dishes from the kitchen through room service and the quality of the cooking, the taste of it and quantity of the food itself, exceeded my expectations. When I visit Córdoba, Y111 is my place!
Very good place to stay in the center of Cordoba and approx. 30 minutes walk from the bus terminal with comfortable beds, big lockers, socket next to the bed and the dorm I stayed in even had a big ensuite bathroom with good facilities. WiFi worked very well (for Argentinian standards) and there is a lot of common space and a nice roof terrace. And not to forget the very helpful ladies at the reception😃
Nice hostel in cordoba. Beds are comfy, rooms are big enough, lockers can fit a medium size backpack and the kitchen is well equipped. There’s a nice common area with a TV, couches and dining tables. Bathrooms are clean but there’s only two which means you might have to wait in the morning and evening time. Staff is nice and welcoming. Location is great, just 10 mins walking from central square.
Everything was brilliant. Denis the owner was so great at communicating and flexible with check in / check out. Really well located, within walking distance of most things. Apartment furnished with everything needed for a break in Cordoba. Super clean as well. I wouldn't bother looking for anything else, this place is perfect.
Beautiful, classic hotel in the center of Cordóba, modernized mainly in the common spaces. Room still very classic, but with key card entrance. Spacious room, bathroom was almost bigger than the room but very empty. Low light inside (no direct sunlight) but makes the room fresher in warm temperatures. Very nice staff!
Fabulous hotel at excellent price! Small but well organised rooms with all the amenities! Great breakfast and convenient location (3min walk from the bus station) and most of all incredible front desk staff (thank you again for making our stay so lovely!)
The staff was amiable. The room was quiet though the hotel was pretty full. Good insulation, the temperature was perfect inside room even though outside it was 3C.
Also, there was not much sound coming from the outside busy streets. Great location!
I liked the staff! They were really exceptional and very kind. The hotel has a very nice location near sightseeing spots and the hotel was very clean! The breakfast was amazing! Lots of variety to choose from and the dinner was delicious as well.
The hotel is located around the city main square. You can get to the city center and main tourist attractions in a heartbeat. The breakfast is typical Argentinean: filter coffee, milk, medialunas, bread, butter, ham and cheese, and some cereals.
Very nice place, good location in the city. Very close to the Center and the beautiful Paseo de las Artes. The guy working there spoke very good english and was always very kind and helpful. If we are ever in Córdoba again, we will come back!
The hotel was very well located, the staff was very helpful and friendly and the rooms we big and comfortable. Food at the restaurant was of a good standard although the service was a bit slow for meals; breakfast was excellent.
Room was clean and spacious, with a real desk to work on the laptop. Staff was kind, attentive and helpful. A lot of choices for breakfast. Good location to walk around the center of Cordoba.
The appartment is very well decorated and cozy. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay in Córdoba. Brunella is a amazing hosts and gave us a lot of recommendations for the city!
Very nice design boutique hotel, very centrally located near the old center of Cordoba, yet an oasis of tranquility! Excellent sleeping comfort. Good buffet breakfast as well.
