Large rooms and large comfy beds. Manteigas is also the most beautiful village we visited in Portugal, set in the mountains with narrow streets and small interesting shops.

Located in Gouveia, within 26 km of Mangualde Live Artificial Beach and 39 km of Parque Natural Serra da Estrela, Quinta Costa da Estrela offers accommodation with free WiFi, air conditioning, a... The lodging is in the ground floor of a carefully modernized and upgraded house in the center of Gouveia. The host was completely fluent in English and Portuguese, and answered lots of questions about the town and surrounding area. The room was large and quiet, with a large spotless bath. Breakfast was a nice selection of fresh foods.

With Parque Natural Serra da Estrela reachable in 24 km, Terrace Serra Hotel features accommodation, a restaurant, a garden, a bar and a shared lounge. Complimentary WiFi is available. A great stay, you would not believe how good can a night stay be. Newly furnished room very clean and spacious. The staff were very polite and helpful, and finally, a delicious breakfast served with a good atmosphere.

Great view from room; excellent interaction with owner who was extremely knowledgeable about the area. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was full and delicious made with care with products from the region.

Offering barbecue facilities and garden view, Casa da Ribeirinha is situated in Sabugueiro, 44 km from Mangualde Live Artificial Beach and 20 km from Manteigas Hot Springs. The house is very well located, clean and well maintained. The staff is great at accomodating our needs.

Located in the centre of Manteigas, Casa D’Avenida is a newly renovated family house, sited within the Serra da Estrela Natural Park. The room had a comfy bed and a nice little balcony with mountain view (due to very bad weather we couldn't use it, unfortunately). Downstairs there is a nice seating area with an oven which we used to get dry and warm up after some very rainy hikes. The guest house is located right at the little stream flowing through Manteigas, so restaurants and shops are right around the corner. (We recommend Infusao, just a couple of steps up the stream from the guest house.) The breakfast was amazing and very extensive, even when only us two were left at the hotel. Best thing: we could pack bread etc for lunch, tea and coffee were always available downstairs, as was the amazing home-made cake. We were looking forward to this after every hike.

Boasting garden views, Agroturismo A Fidalga provides accommodation with balcony, around 39 km from Mangualde Live Artificial Beach. With city views, this accommodation offers a patio. The rural location was perfect for my stay. Only just of the main highway...but enough for a very quiet stay.
