One of the nicest hotels I have stayed in 45 years of travel. Artistic and funky but also warm, friendly and totally unpretentious. The hotel is an old style property, airy and light with big windows and views to the Pico volcano. It is like a gem of an oasis amidst more recent development on the edge of town, but is only ten mins walk down to the big square and port. Breakfast in the spacious dining room is exceptional and the ladies who run the hotel are charming and helpful. We had the extra benefit and unexpected bonus of the Suite, which was like having your own flat with a terrace! There are some trendy restaurant options down the hill with good food - but rather pricey wine, but we found a couple of traditional older places (Medalhas & Lima) that we liked. For whale-watching, Naturalist are a good science-based outfit and if you are short of time or transport they do an excellent half day island tour too - very informative and not touristy. You can do both in one day!

Located in Horta, Casa BuonVento offers a shared living room. Among the facilities at this property are a shared kitchen and luggage storage space, along with free WiFi throughout the property. Everything was absolutely wonderful! Elena and Jerry really go the extra mile. The house is full or Jerry’s art, which gives it a nice homey touch. You can tell that they love what they are doing. Also if you have any questions about Faial they have the best advise. We tried out all recommended restaurants and coffee shops and they were all good. We would come back any time. Thanks for everything!

Situated in Horta, Manta Ray Lodge provides free WiFi throughout the property. All rooms boast a flat-screen TV with satellite channels and a private bathroom. Very comfortable and clean rooms! The bulding is renovated and modern. Great breakfast served every morning. Every day the room was cleaned. The location is very central which was convinient. The staff polite, friendly and helpful!

Located 600 metres from the small island airport, Quinta das Buganvílias is surrounded by a large park with lush vegetation. This place was just perfect! Such a lovely house with a nice sea view and a beautiful garden. The breakfast at the terrace was amazing. Although it is very close to the airport, it is very quiet and relaxed. There is not much air traffic on Faial. We wished we could have stayed longer. This was one of the best and most comfortable stays on our trip to the Azores. Highly recommended!

Faial Cottage B&B is situated in Cedros and offers a kitchenette, a terrace. The property has panoramic ocean views as well as garden views and is 12 km from Horta. Beautiful property, great views over the sea and landscape, very comfortable bed! Hosts were so accommodating and caring and the daily breakfasts perfect! Extra nice touches, like wildflowers in the kitchen and bathroom, helped make it extra special!

Located 1 km from the centre of Horta, Vila Odette offers a garden boasting views of the sea and mountain. Free WiFi is available and free private parking is available on site. wonderful view, great place to stay
