One of the nicest hotels I have stayed in 45 years of travel. Artistic and funky but also warm, friendly and totally unpretentious. The hotel is an old style property, airy and light with big windows and views to the Pico volcano. It is like a gem of an oasis amidst more recent development on the edge of town, but is only ten mins walk down to the big square and port. Breakfast in the spacious dining room is exceptional and the ladies who run the hotel are charming and helpful. We had the extra benefit and unexpected bonus of the Suite, which was like having your own flat with a terrace! There are some trendy restaurant options down the hill with good food - but rather pricey wine, but we found a couple of traditional older places (Medalhas & Lima) that we liked. For whale-watching, Naturalist are a good science-based outfit and if you are short of time or transport they do an excellent half day island tour too - very informative and not touristy. You can do both in one day!

Alice´s House se encuentra en Horta, a 1,8 km de Praia da Conceição, y ofrece alojamiento con jardín, parking privado gratis y terraza. Needless to say the VIEW!!! I couldn’t believe my luck when I entered my very spacious and comfortable room and saw that view from the French door and the terrace! I had the sunrise, the full moon, glorious Pico, the sea, the meadows, the birds, the lights of the port all in one amazing picture right in front of me. The weather was on my side too! I always close all shutters and go for the dark when I sleep, but not at Alice’s house! Impossible to block the view! The room itself was also perfect, comfy bed, two types of pillows (memory/hard and soft), spacious wardrobe and chest of drawers, TV (not essential for me but there is one), excellent shower, very hot water, BIDET! And in the communal living room: extra towels, hair dryers, coffee and tea and biscuits, kettle, mugs, glasses, fridge. Perfect for breakfast (I didn’t use this facility but I appreciated that it was available). You can par on the road (which is on the way to the Caldera, by the way) or in her parking space in front of the house (steep entrance). On arrival I was welcomed by Alice, super nice and super cool! I saw her just on arrival but if I needed anything, she left her number in the room. So lucky to have stayed in her beautiful house! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

H18 se encuentra a 1,9 km de Praia da Conceição y ofrece alojamiento conjardín, salón de uso común y cocina compartida. Hay wifi gratis en todo el alojamiento. Very comfy beds, nice view, good breakfast and the little details like handmade stickers on milk bottles and jam jars or nicely prepared table for the breakfast

La Casa buonvento se encuentra en Horta y ofrece una sala de estar compartida. También cuenta con cocina compartida, consigna de equipaje y WiFi gratuita en todas las instalaciones. The hosts made it worthwhile. They go out of their way to please.

Monte da Guia está en Horta, a 2,4 km de Praia da Conceição, y ofrece alojamiento frente a la playa con zona de barbacoa, entre otros. Big clean room with mountain and ocean view. Friendly staff. Good location. Big and fully equipped kitchen with living room and balcony.

El Manta Ray Lodge se encuentra en Horta y ofrece WiFi gratuita en todas las instalaciones. Todas las habitaciones cuentan con TV de pantalla plana con canales vía satélite y baño privado. Muy cómoda la cama y buen desayuno

La Quinta das Buganvilias se encuentra a 600 metros del pequeño aeropuerto de la isla y está rodeada de un extenso parque frondoso. I like the property a lot. It’s a gorgeous place, I highly recommend everyone to stay here. It’s a beautiful farm where you will live with the nature, wake up and go sleep with birds 🐦 have breakfast with a farm and domestic food 🤤 Ana and while staff is so kind and helpful. Thank you a lot with the opportunity to stay with dog, for helping with the car rent and helping and keeping in touch when our flight was rescheduled.

Mar Rosa - Terraço Vista Praia está en Horta, a 16 min a pie de Praia de Porto Pim, y tiene terraza, habitaciones libres de humo y wifi gratis en todo el alojamiento. Era una casa local, te sentías integrado en el pueblo. Estaba en medio de puerto hacia un lado y una playa maravillosa hacia el otro, lo mejor de nuestro viaje por Azores, súper amable el anfitrión, y el precio muy bajo, increíblemente bajo comparativamente con lo que busqué en Azores y lo agradable de la casa

El Faial Cottage B&B se encuentra en Cedros y ofrece zona de cocina y terraza. El establecimiento tiene vistas panorámicas al mar y al jardín y se encuentra a 12 km de Horta. Beautiful property, great views over the sea and landscape, very comfortable bed! Hosts were so accommodating and caring and the daily breakfasts perfect! Extra nice touches, like wildflowers in the kitchen and bathroom, helped make it extra special!
