An unexpected visit which exceeded my expectations. Hosts Helga and Armando were wonderful and included me in an impromptu barbecue with the other guests. The house is beautiful with fantastic views from a lovely pool area. My room was large and very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fresh and tasty. I can recommend totally.

Located in Cabaços and only 45 km from Our Lady of Fatima Basilica, Casa De Newsham provides accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. Spacious, lovely room with a very comfy bed. Big shower, hot water. It was winter and Ian had turned on the heating before my arrival so the room was warm. Very thoughtful and much appreciated!

Fonte d'Amandos offers rooms in the very centre of Arganil. All rooms have got private bathrooms, ours had a walk-in shower. We stayed in the family room, which has two levels, so our son had a little privacy. The place is air-conditioned and cleaned regularly. The beds are very comfortable, and there are also desks and space to hang clothes. The staff of Fonte d'Amandos is charming and always helpful. Every morning you can have breakfast at the bakery, which serves a good variety of rolls and cakes, both sweet and savoury. Many local people come for a coffee, and to buy bread there. There is parking nearby. We have stayed there before, and we will certainly come back.

Quinta dos Church is located in Ansião, 45 km from Santa Clara a Velha Monastery, 46 km from Coimbra-A Train Station, and 46 km from Coimbra Football Stadium. Olga and Stephen were fantastic hosts. Their home is a little way off the Camino trail so they picked us up on the trail and returned us the next day. Olga was also kind enough to warm up some food that we had brought for dinner that evening. The room was comfortable and we appreciated the small touches like fresh cookies, coffee and tea. Breakfast in the morning was a highlight - eggs from the chickens in the garden, fresh bread from the local bakery, jams that Olga had made herself and cheese from the neighbour. A real treat for 2 hungry pilgrims.
