Ellen, the owner, told us the interesting history about the area before dinner. The next day she gave us a tour of the parsonage and chapel, which had been her childhood home. She made our stay so personal and special. It was a rainy fall day outside but inside it was cozy and we were able to sit by the fire for a relaxing morning.

The 1770 stabbur was very roomy and well-equipped with bathroom, kitchen, TV. I loved the history of the place—like a museum. Short drive to Bo or Lunde, Telemark. Torstein and Goril were charming hosts. I plan to return and recommend to my family.

Quiet, historical location allows you to watch the operation of the locks. Having a restaurant on site was a big plus. We had a lovely dinner on the porch, and the breakfast the next morning was just fine. This was good for a one-night stay, but probably wouldn't want to stay longer than that. Location was great to get to Ulefoss or Lunde to go for a canal boat cruise.

My single room with its own bathroom was just perfect: clean, cozy and comfortable. The kitchen(s) for common use was/were very well equipped, had everything someone could need and more, and it was nicely clean, so I loved it. If I should be around, I would definitely book here again!!!

The place is an old, charming house that's very warm and cosy. Shower inside the room, toilet is shared and outside of the room but to be honest we didn't find it an issue. Location is very safe, next to the local Spar. The breakfast is simple but does the job. There's optional dinner that you can go for at extra charge that I would recommend if you are willing the taste some local food. The food that's prepared by the hosts is very tasty and the price is reasonable. Speaking of the hosts, they are absolutely lovely - super attentive, really trying to make you feel welcome and very accommodating. Thank you for the great experience!
