Had an amazing stay here complemented by the wonderful owners Margaret and Martin who greeted us with the warmest welcome, they made us feel so at home and the attention to details throughout our stay was so lovely! The breakfast every morning was exceptional and some mornings we enjoyed this whilst sat outside with the most stunning view of the sea, couldn’t recommend staying here enough! We will sure be back when visiting Cornwall ☺️

The room was comfortable, warm and freshly renovated. Check-in and out was easy, and the hosts communicated brilliantly. The location was great. Able to get down to the beach quickly; 10 - 15 minutes walk (we walk quickly...)--albeit there is a fairly steep hill to negotiate, but you have to come up the hill if you want to get anywhere at all from the beach, so it's unavoidable. I'm sure you can easily get a taxi back up if necessary.

From the moment we arrived, it was such a warm welcome from Rowan and Ally. They even helped us with our bags and drink on arrival. The property is absolutely stunning. Well maintained with a personal and homely touch. Modern building with great decor and views. The location was superb. Walking access to the beach, fine dining restaurants, little town center, etc. Breakfast was exceptional. Fresh muffins/chocolate croissants, fruits and cereal with tea/coffee and orange juice just as a starter. Main course was so tasty and chosen to our liking. It felt like we were at a retreat, so relaxing and the best nights sleep we’ve had in a long time. They couldn’t have done any more for us.

close to bus and train transportation routes to St Ives and area towns and villages. Many choices. Abundant car parking available onsite as required. The room was comfortable and the breakfast abundant.

The house is very luxurious feeling and the location is lovely. Quiet area but close walk to Carbis Bay train station and easy access to the South West Coast Path

Deborah and Paul are excellent hosts, friendly and caring, and serves an exceptional breakfast daily. We chose Oystercatcher because of its location, giving us a central base within easy driving of Land’s End, Lizard Point, Penzance and other not to be missed Cornwall locales. We were glad we did.

We enjoyed staying at Thurlestone House very much indeed for the 10 nights we were there. John and Linda could not have made us more welcome and were a fountain of knowledge both on the local area and wider Cornwall so were always willing to help with travel advice and where to go and what to see. The room was very comfortable, quiet and a nice size for the two of us. Breakfasts were very good indeed with a wide choice and always served with a smile. We would have no hesitation in staying at Thurlestone House again when next in the St Ives area.

The place is well taken care of and detailed. The hosts personal touch is visible in every little detail. The breakfast is rich and more than complete, for everyone’s taste is overthought. The host gives you a warm welcome and makes you feel home.
