Spectacular apartment and wonderful hosts! The accommodations were spotless, convenient and the restaurant on site was good. The hosts went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and provided great instructions for getting into the park from a less busy entrance. We were able to beat much of the crowd on the Upper lakes and just had to endure the throngs on the Lower lakes. We arrived a bit late in the evening but were still able to get a meal in the restaurant and had the most magnificent homemade chocolate cake for dessert.

The location was superb. Situated near the "unofficial" entry called either P3 or the "Auxiliary Flora Entrance". It's unofficial because the website doesn't list P3 but in any case Etno Garden Apartments is about a 5 min walk to this entry. No tickets are sold here. Just a hut that is manned starting at 7am to check your tickets. You will need to buy them online (recommended) or go to Entrance 1 or 2 and buy them there. Having them in advance though is key then you can just walk from Etno to get into the park. No need to deal with driving/parking. Last photo of map, I've circled P3 entry near Etno in red.
Once through the checkpoint you walk down to the boat landing where you can catch one of the ferries to go to other parts of the park. I'd recommend uploading the Plitvice Mobile app (green background with a bear outlined in white) as it lays out different walking programs as well as info about the park and a good map.
It's also easy to walk from Etno to the trails that are outside of the park but run along the top ridge. They offer great views during an early morning or evening walk.
The other very surprising thing we found was their restaurant. We were not anticipating that we'd be able to find a decent meal due to the remoteness of the lake park. However Etno actually offered a great restaurant/menu selection with super friendly servers/service. We were there 3 days/two nights and ate every meal at the restaurant because it was not just convenient but delicious.
The check in was great and easy. We arrived a bit early for check in but that was not a problem. Our apartments were ready (we were two couples, renting 2 apartments next door to each other) and the young guy that checked us in could not have been nicer. Also offering us good suggestions on how to tour the park. The staff continued to be attentive during our whole visit.

We really enjoyed the hearty simple breakfast, the location (a few minutes walk from the park), and the host (Bosco) was super helpful answering questions, offering to book dinner for us, etc. We only got to enjoy breakfast outside once (due to weather) but it was fun watching the chickens roam around doing their thing!

The property is right next to a stream and surrounded by woods - beautiful! It was super easy to enter with a lock box, and the host Georgie was helpful, present, and accommodating. He even drove us down to the main resort lodge for dinner our first night since we had arrived right around the dinner hour. You can rely on google maps to get there, but when you get closer to the cabin the roads are dirt/gravel and not clearly labeled, so be sure to drive slowly and watch the map you'll get there just fine. Yeti Cabin itself has a very clear sign. I wish we could've stayed longer!

My family and I had such an incredible stay with the Sarlija's Family this May. So much that when we left after only one night, I felt as if we were leaving good friends and was already planning our return trip. I cannot say enough about the warmth and hospitality that both Lucy and Ante spread. From the pre trip communication to farewell they truly want their guest to have a wonderful experience from their hearts. They have created an Inn that is not only bright and cheerful but warm and cozy at the same time. Our room was the perfect size for my family of three (four would have slept there comfortably as well) with big beautiful windows and a closet to hang our clothes and stow our luggage out of the way.
We received perfect advice on the park that allowed us to maximize our time and ate boxed lunches fresh from Lucy!
We ate dinner in their restaurant the night of our stay and it was delicious. You may eat inside or on the patio, we chose the patio which was covered and the perfect place to watch a thunderstorm roll in after dinner. All of Ante's ingredients are sourced locally and in season making the dishes uniquely Croatian. Being our first time visiting Croatia this allowed us to see it from a true culinary perspective. Ante makes all the dishes on site to order with the help of Mateo who at 11 is already a gracious host. Both my husband and I had the vegetable soup made from Lucy's garden fresh vegetables and pureed into a creamy but dairy free soup, it was lovely. For our main courses,I had the chicken breast with mushroom cream sauce, herbed smashed potatoes and fresh vegetables. My husband and daughter both had the fish of the day served with the same sides. Our meals were superb and perfectly paired with Croatian wine. For desert we were served a lovely apple crumble with caramel sauce. It was just the right amount of desert with the right amount of sweet to end our meal. Breakfast does not disappoint!

A traditional guesthouse experience, my hosts were extremely kind and welcoming. I arrived late at night and at first they were unable to locate my reservation but made me feel right at home and set me up in a room while they worked it out. They did not speak English, but we were able to communicate just fine. For the price, comfort of facilities were as expected. Location was ideal for someone traveling with their own car. Beautiful view and a short 10 minute drive to Entrance 1, market and restaurants. Access to kitchen, wifi and outdoor patio were a must for me.

It's the best place if you want to walk Plitvice Lakes park, in my case I stayed 3 days because I like walking almost every path 😊. If you're a fast walker you can do the park in just one day but it's better to take your time, that place is dreamy. Plitvica Selo is a tiny location where you can go to the park via entrance #3 where you can avoid loooooong lines waiting.

The location is amazing.
The location is amazing. The lookout at the top of the main park waterfall is a short walk from the premises. The quiet serenity of the area is remarkable. Getting up early for a walk in the misty paths was a true treasure.
The room is truly comfortable and homely with all amenities required. Host Ante is a great cook and also shared ideas and things to do with our upcoming stays in Split, Hvar and Dubrovnik, which helps a lot in especially choosing a restaurant.
I would truly recommend this stay. It is a great location.

Plitvice Selo is just a couple of houses without any shops...
Plitvice Selo is just a couple of houses without any shops but mostly cottages/apartments for rent, but with a few restaurants. It is very close to entrance 3 (15 minutes by foot), so you do not need the car for your stay. From entrance 3 you can either walk or take the boat to the other end (included in the daily pass of the national park - book in advance!). It is a lot less touristic, but this also means you will not find many places to buy food (even inside the park) or eat in, hence a good accommodation which provides this is very helpful.

Plitvica selo is a small village right next to the P3 entrance of the Plitvice lakes. It is a quite village in nature without any stores. There are only a few places you can eat or have a drink within walking distance. For more choices you need a car. It maybe difficult to be in Plitvica selo without a car. Great place for outdoor activities such as walking, hiking and biking.

This small village was originally a dairy farming community...
This small village was originally a dairy farming community tucked away in a small glen among the mountains of Plitvice National Park. A few miles off the main highway, it is accessed by a lightly trafficked country road with occasional breathtaking views of the canyon below and the river flowing out of the Plitvice Lakes. The inns, in keeping with UNESCO rules, are the original historic farm buildings, which have been renovated on the interior. The inns are within walking distance of a lesser known and lightly used third entrance to the park, from which one can begin exploring this beautiful National Park.

Beautiful place in the heart of the beautiful lakes.
Beautiful place in the heart of the beautiful lakes. We stayed here while it was raining which did not stop us from enjoying beautiful sceneries and nature overall. We bought raincoats for decent price easily. Definitely coming back for nicer weather. Place is the heaven.
Beautiful nearly new B & B. Fantastic large room, good large bed, room with with views on garden/trees and the sound of the nearby Creek. Perfect and silent location.
A fantastic warm welcome by a very friendly and helpful sister and brother of a family owned B & B with their father.
Very willing to give information about the National Park and to make our stay as comfortable as possible.
Before our arrival we were contacted if we would like to have dinner, which was very pleasant and attentive by them.
The food
Beautiful and serene. Staff incredibly friendly. Got there in the evening after a long day of adventure and travel, and was so excited to find that they had beer and wine for sale. Decent dinner at another B&B was a quick walk away. Walking distance to entrance 3 which takes you directly to the boat. I had read that entrance 3 was an illegal entrance. However, there was a ranger they’re scanning tickets and we had no problem walking in. Would 100% stay here over the park hotels
We enjoyed staying there for many reasons: the holders are a very nice family, they explained us a perfect route around the lakes for visiting them with kids. We travel with two kids - 4 years and 9 months old, and felt there like home. The rooms are very clean, modern and the breakfast was amazing. The hotel is 15 min. walking to the highest waterfall in Croatia. We highly recommend this place.
Amazing location right near a side entrance to the park, fantastic check in with Lucy who welcomed us and immediately gave us recommendations for how to enter the park and see all the sights. Delicious, home-cooked breakfast and dinner prepared by Ante with very friendly service by Leo. Comfortable and peaceful room. Couldn’t recommend more!
Great location inside the park, lovely new and spacious rooms, excellent shower and they let us park the car for the day at the hotel while we visited the lakes. Like other reviewers, we also had a nice evening meal at the small restaurant of the b&b over the road. Limited menu but tasty food and friendly service.
Lovely resort with very friendly staff in a great location. The rooms are great, spacious. The mini farm is fantastic for kids as is are games.
Entrance 3 to the park is perfect, not busy and an easy walk from the hotel. Staff friendly and available to help with activity ideas. We extended our stay by a night.
This B&B is one of accommodation near entrance 3 which is not a popular entrance and made us travel more like a local. Host is super friendly and helpful. Dinner is amazing and very good value! Room is spacy and whole environment is comfy. Highly recommend if you want to travel slowly in this area.
The rooms are located closest to Entrance 3 of Plitvice National Park. We stayed on the top floor and had a lovely view of the lake and the surrounding area. The restaurant offers a good selection and is also walking distance to neighbouring hotels/restaurants.
Great location on the doorstep of the wonderful Plitvice Lakes National Park. The owner was really friendly, going out of his way to help book us a restaurant at a nearby hotel after we arrived late. Would definitely recommend!
In general it was quite good but could be better.
We liked the location, the look of the hotel and area.
The staff was friendly and helpful though we didn't have any special requests.
The breakfast was good.
Friendly and very helpful host. The lady gave us very good advice on which route to walk in the park. Location is very near P3 of the National Park. Generous and delicious breakfast. The facilities are clean.
Loved the location so near a 'secret' entrance to the park. The couple making breakfast was lovely and the breakfast was outstanding. Gardens were in bloom and offered a great place for a meditation
I enjoyed time at this place, really cozy and comfortable apartment, nieces workers ever. Hotel has his own good restaurant, we even didn’t try to find out others 😁 Lake’s entrance was really close
Great family run hotel! The place is very well maintained & very clean. Wonderful service with a good breakfast & very good dinner. We would stay here again if staying in the Plitvice Lakes area.
Rooms and facilities are spread across 2 large detached houses in a v low density village setting. No long corridors or hotel compromises. Just a big sense of space. And lovely management
Amazing experience. This (the hotel and the lakes) was a highlight of our visit to Croatia! The staff was exceptionally friendly, and the food was great.
