We have been going to Mount Vernon for years and it has seen better times. The shopping is all but gone, the mall and outlet mall are closed. The food and drink places are the same and very good and a lot of fun. The people are generally friendly and welcoming.

I asked for a quiet room, and they gave me a quiet room which I appreciated. There was no maid service while I was there (4 days), and the hotel in general is pretty run down. it needs some serious TLC. Everything is pretty old and grimy. There is quite a bit of freeway noise, which might not be the case in a newer, well-insulated building. It was relatively inexpensive. Next time I will probably spend a little extra and stay in a different place.

We've been attending the Tulip Fest for years!
We've been attending the Tulip Fest for years! The fields are truly specatacular, and Skagit County has many great dining options. Lots of parks and outdoor activities for families with kids!
As long as you are prepared for traffic on a sunny Tulip Fest weekend, you'll have a great time.....start your day early for smaller crowds and great light for photos!

I checked out after 2 hours of checking in and would only recommend these rooms to people that like smelling cigarette smoke and like to have the smell on your clothes even after you leave. Booking.com has no clue as to whether Quality inn follows their own no smoking policy. I will never recommend Quality inn to any family or friends. (Or enemies)

Close to I-5 freeway w/o the noise.
Close to I-5 freeway w/o the noise. Lots of restaurant/fast food dining close by as well as shopping (Lowes and WalMart across the road). We casino hopped...Skagit, Swinomish, Angel of Wind, and Tulalip....didn't win but had fun!!
The location is great. The hotel should have been wonderful as well. Sadly, it wasn’t so. The bathroom is circa 1975 and should be updated for 170 a night plus pet fee. The shower doesn’t drain well, the shower curtain was almost completely broken off making the shower curtain impossible to close. Most of our towels were used to dry the floor after showers.
The lock latch on the door was broken off entirely, so thank goodness I wasn’t here alone. The microwave also died while we were trying to use it.
The check-in was very easy! The staff was very kind and helpful. The hotel is on a main road, so I was concerned that it might be loud at night, but by 9pm there was no traffic so it was quiet. There were many restaurant options within a mile and the room was clean and had everything I needed! I stayed with my dog and he was welcomed with just a small pet fee. We will definitely be staying here in the future!
This Wingate hotel was formerly a Best Western (that we used to stay at frequently when visiting Mt. Vernon). The transition to Wingate apparently happened two months ago. Even though the signs have banners over them indicating Wingate you can still see the Best Western through the banners due to the lighting. Kind of funny. The price per night is less than it used to be as a Best Western.
I hope someone reads this comment because I used booking.com to get a room at Rodeway hotel near the airport in Seattle. I could not use that room because my flight was canceled. Why do I have to pay for that room. I was only given minutes notice before I knew and I called right away there was lots of shenanigans going on.
Good location..a lot of restaurants around...wish there is a hot tub...the room is a bit dark...a very old building..can notice some marks in the toilet bottom wally..so far it's the cheapest hotel I can find in the area..just one night...the room still smell someone smoking before
We actually canceled our reservation because of the wildfires in the area. The main attraction of Mount Baker which we were going to visit was closed. The clerk at the desk of the hotel was very accommodating and was able to cancel our reservation with no penalty on our side.
We enjoyed it all as we have stayed many times. The breakfast was a bit thin though we do understand that in virus times, the hotel was probably very slow for the 2 years before this year.
We were in town for soccer tourney; location was great; close to fields, food, and stores. Hotel was quiet during the night. Room was clean and comfortable. Office staff were friendly.
