Ashford was great! If you want to take your dog hiking find a place outside mt rainier, no dogs allowed. There is a nice hike very close to juniper cabin. It's very easy and very nice. Must walk there. There is no parking.

The property was perfect, only a few miles away from the entrance to a great national park. Since you have a limited selection of restaurants and grocery stores, it offers you the opportunity to cook in. Would definitely recommend it to others.

The local restaurants are great, especially the Wild Berry, the sherpa food one. The woman who ran Alexander's Lodge was awesome, she went over and beyond trying to make people happy. Very pretty setting, nice rooms and the sitting room was extra room to spread out. I would go back!

Surprising Food, Comfortable Stay
Surprising Food, Comfortable Stay
Ashford is a service town for Mount Rainier National Park. Strung out along Highway 706 for the last few miles before the entrance, it's great for mountaineers and tourists. I ate at the Wild Berry Cafe, owned and operated by Sherpa immigrants who bring their food and culture to this tiny, rural corner of Washington State.
The Gateway Inn, adjacent to the Nisqually Gate of the Park, is a comfortable older hotel. It's a perfect basecamp for a short stay or as the beginning or ending overnight spot for your adventure. I stayed in one of the older cabins, warm and cozy, on my recent overnight business trip. It worked perfectly as I celebrated a couple's sunrise wedding in the park!

Very close to the National Park.
Very close to the National Park. Great place to stay if you're going to the Paradise area of Mount Rainier. We ate at the Copper Creek Inn Restaurant, It was decent. The cider we got there in the gift area was very good.
Exceptional location. Old but clean and comfortable room in an historic inn. Had 15, the Pond Room. Amazing Tiny Trail to take around back. Sunny and the other staff were so helpful and friendly. This place has character. They even had a small flashlight and nightlight in the room. Three of us were comfortable. Stayed in May, would come back other seasons in a heartbeat. Great location to Mt. Rainier and other trails. Restaurants nearby
The house is clean and tidy the keys are in a locked box if need to access with code, and there is a door code as well. Everything is detailed and explained clearly. It is so close to the access of Longmire, Mount Rainier, you don't have to drive hours to enter. The town has cute little local restaurants and everything is cozy and relaxing. Across the house is a small lake if you want to take a swim or sit and just admire.
The rooms were clean and tidy, and seemed larger than a typical hotel room. The location was excellent to visit Mt Rainier. We were relieved when we saw the lodge driving up because a lot of the other lodging options in the area appeared to be in shabby condition and Nisqually Lodge looked fresh and updated.
It's a charming location and the cabin has basically all the basics there. The coffee beans and coffee grinder are a lovely touch. The grounds are well-kept and the location was very, very quiet. All you can here, usually is the stream nearby, and the laughter of any neighbors. A lovely place for a getaway.
Wonderful setting, quite near the park. Very Instagramable outside. Nice wood stove with wood. Felt very cozy from the rainstorm we were sheltering from. We were there in the wrong season but the backyard would be an amazing hang out spot in nicer weather. Nice welcome pack of pancake mix!
I loved the little cabin which from the outside blends in with the small town of Ashford but then opens up to be a very modern and stylish lodge. Big TV with cable service. And the bathroom had a heated floor which was very nice in the morning!
Location was amazing, staff friendly. Easy to find, parking was plentiful. Right near the entrance of the Rainier park. Very large rooms with full size fridge. Little store connected with a few drinks, some snacks and essential.
