WE love the Inn at Essex, My Gf is a bit Leary of going on Church street in Burlington, in fact her and her firmed won't go shopping without one of us guys with them in Burlington. They will go to North Conway by themselves and stay over.

Burlington is a charming little town with a small city vibe.
Burlington is a charming little town with a small city vibe. I have family history there so we spent time seeing areas of family interest as well as interesting sights around town. Also very close to Canada for an easy quick trip to Montreal.

Walked to University mall and ate at Applebee's.
Walked to University mall and ate at Applebee's. The food was good and service satisfactory. The mall had several known stores. Dorset Street was very noisy with cars and motorcycles during the night.
The only redeeming quality of the Anchorage Inn was its proximity to the airport.
Would never consider staying there again and am seeking a refund.

Beautiful town, nice shopping and dining
Beautiful town, nice shopping and dining
When colleges have special events it’s impossible to get a dining reservation at the best spots
The contrast between the pricey flair and the ubiquitous homelessness is stunning.
Homeless people are at every corner, in front of churches, at the town park ( wondering if they built a brand new fountain so that they can wash up) many stoned and drunk out of their minds

Burlington is welcoming, diverse, and eclectic.
Burlington is welcoming, diverse, and eclectic. The city is colorful and easy together around with multiple choices for transportation from bikes, walking, bus, taxi, or Lyft. Parking in municipal garages make avoiding street parking easier. During busy times, I recommend not using your car, if you are unfamiliar to Burlington. We were there to take the City Brew Tour as Vermont has more breweries per capita than other states. The meeting spot for th Brew Tour was by the Ben & Jerry's ice cream shop that was constantly busy.

A must-see city.... active, fun, vibrant with plenty to do.
A must-see city.... active, fun, vibrant with plenty to do. We did the trolley tour, and the sunset cruise, hung around the university and Church Street and saw the different areas of the city. Also spent a night on the island of North Hero on Lake Champlain to do the full experience! We even did the Ben & Jerry Factory Tour which was fun but is a half-hour drive away from Burlington.
The Courtyard Burlington Harbor has spectacular lake-view rooms, and that's the main reason we went. It's also very convenient walking distance to the city center. We also had a great dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant, really excellent.
A fringe benefit was that New Years Eve we could watch the fireworks from our room through the huge picture windows.
My husband and I like to visit the Burlington area but the hotels are so expensive. The Starlight Inn didn't look like much from the pictures but there were a lot of good reviews and the price was right so we decided to try it out. The room was nice and even though there were other guests it was so quiet, that was our favorite part, we were able to relax!
The hotel was beautiful, with a huge double sided fireplace in the lobby. Free drinks and appetizers in the evening, and complimentary hot breakfast. It was quiet, and easily accessible to downtown and shopping. Our King Suite had a full refrigerator, stovetop, and dishwasher, as well as table, couch, and two tv’s. We will definitely stay here again!!
Very comfortable well appointed room. Excellent central location for exploring Burlington. Super friendly reception staff who gave loads of recommendations. Complimentary bikes form the hotel were a bonus , would highly recommend cycling the bike trail along Lake Champlain
Location is excellent for visiting Shelburne Farm and Shelburne Museum. But Downtown Burlington is also just 12 minutes away. From my room I had a partial view of the lake Champlain and some sunsets were stunning.
We didn’t eat the bagged breakfast provided. Basic stuff like yogurt, fruit. The hotel was clean & fine and worked well for us, only a couple miles from downtown.
The location was great. Nice, comfortable room with a good view. The vouchers for the hotel bar were nice, but should apply to the pantry items as well.
