Easy location off the highway. Near fuel/food options.
Room was FILTHY. Floors were filthy. Everything was filthy and OLD.
Found MANY bugs in room. Found one in my BED!!!!. I immediately went out to my CAR TO SLEEP. Cleaner in my car than my room. Called manager about issues (such as the BROWN towels). They were a dingy white before I used them to wipe up water on filthy bathroom floor from commode overflowing (NO reason for commode to over flow as nothing in toilet but pee). He then said "I (I'm) not giving you(r) money back". He was as disgusting as room was. I will never stay there again and WILL NOT RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE. It needs to be inspected by Health Department and "manager" needs to be fired. This was by far the worst motel I have ever stayed at. Girl at front desk when I checked was very pleasant but that is the only thing the motel had to offer.

The staff when we checked in were very nice but we had some issues with the room. The toilet leaked everywhere and the shower parts were rusty. We had ants in the bed and all over the room. We did let the front desk know and all the could say was the weather is what caused the ants and they said they will try to look at the toilet. Nothing was done while we were staying there though.

Cookeville has a lot of shops and places to dine, all of various tastes and budgets. It is blessed by many views of the beautiful countryside which surrounds it. There is a lot of traffic but that signifies a good local economy. Being in Tennessee there are a lot of outdoor activities, I confess I did not know them as I was in town specifically for a wedding.
There are a lot of hotels conveniently located near the highway for easy access to and from all points around. I'm sure if you look to the nearby State Parks and do research on the city's website you'll find a lot to do and the cost verses more well-known Tennessee cities is a lot less... "Y'all".

Burgess Falls State Park has an excellent trail beside several waterfalls. I was glad I had my walking stick as ground is a bit uneven and there are several steps to climb and descend, Good wooden rail helps.

Over all the hotel was nice with the exception of your day time manager.she stole from me and called the police on me in order to cover up what she did...i don't know if she has something personal against me.which i don't know how as i am not from here.but she treated me in a racist manner and truly embarrassed me...i so have a police report pending concerning this incident as she lied to me as well as the police.ans she tarnished my reputation.

This town is what Nashville isn't. Authentic.
This town is what Nashville isn't. Authentic. It is up and coming as you notice construction everywhere. Traffic can get heavy close to the I-40 and the lower end of South Jefferson. But in the main, other drivers are patient and courteous. There are plenty of shops, both food and otherwise. Drive out of town and the roads quieten down significantly. Cummins and Burgess State Parks are not far and offer fabulous waterfalls. There are many estates and large houses in the area and the Dynasty theme tune will play in your head as you pass them! Proper Tennessee in may aspects. And the people are wonderful.
This room was practically half the price of many nearby chain hotel rooms, so we were not expecting much. Boy were we wrong! The check-in/check-out processes were a breeze; both owners were friendly and accomodating. We had a king room on an upper floor. The bed was very comfortable and everything clean as a pin.
The hotel provides ice, a vending machine for drinks, and self-serve laundry facilities if you need those. There was coffee available in the lobby at 7 each morning.
The place exceeded our expectations. The hosts thought of everything that we could possibly need. It was like staying at a friend's house. The location was perfect because we needed to meet friends in Smithville and Cookeville. We even enjoyed an afternoon at the swimming hole. The place was perfect for our dogs, and the hosts provided wonderful amenities just for them. We will definitely keep this place in mind for our next trip to this area.
This is an older hotel but is clean and comfortable. We were in a King Suite , which was separate from the bedroom area. We really like that. Lots of restaurants in the area. We asked the desk staff, who was very nice, for recommendations for dinner that were not a chain. She directed us to a place downtown. It was very good. Breakfast was continental.
We read that the hotel was pet-friendly and informed the man at the front desk when we arrived that we had just acquired a new puppy. He quickly changed our room to a pet-friendly room and it was the same as any other room, just no carpet (for good reason)(puppies). This is a nice place. Real quiet. Staff are friendly & helpful.
The rooms were clean, comfortable, and quiet. We had asked for our rooms to be close together and we actually able to get adjoining rooms. This hotel was mostly full on an ordinary weekend. A nice breakfast was available each morning. We would stay there again.
Breakfast was easy with microwave biscuits we could heat in the room; cereal and muffins were also available.
The mountain view was lovely and room side patios were a plus. We appreciated that the check-in time of 3pm is earlier than many hotels.
The hotel lobby and breakfast area was clean. Our room was clean. The breakfast was good and had a decent selection of items. Good location. The ladies that I encountered at the front desk were very nice.
The staff were very friendly and responsive. The hotel was very clean and the room was, also. The breakfast had some unusual choices that I appreciated, like the cinnamon buns and the hot oatmeal.
Got the king room for my fiancé and I, and it was nice. The bed was big and comfortable, decent size tv for a hotel room, and they had a pool which was pretty nice.
I’m very cautious and where I stay too many hotels that I’ve been into always had bedbugs so I feel this is the most important thing in my stay over on any hotel.
