Sheriff Buford Pusser, The Walking Tall Sheriff is the main reason for a stay in Adamsville, McNairy County, TN. Of course it has the Buford Pusser home and Museum, in the actual hlme of Buford Pusser. It has his death car the 1974 Corvette's, and his family car. It has many of Buford's possessions including his AR15 and many of his sticks and clubs. Numerous photos and reading material throughout the museum, chronicling the Sheriff's life snd career. It's also a very small town with friendly people. All the local bussinesss close early, so be prepared for that, eating at the resturants.

I'm sure most people wouldn't bother with this small town, but there's a Civil War battlefield less than 10 miles from here, and this is the closest place you can get a room. That's why I booked here. I stayed two nights, and found the area quite accommodating.

The bed was so comfortable. No backaches.

The bed was so comfortable. No backaches. Wish I had it at home. Room was clean and well kept. Ate across the street at Jacks. All meals are available. Reasonable prices. Pizza place a couple blocks away. Good pizza. And I'm from Chicago so I know good pizza. We were there to visit family so we didn't do "fun activities" like a tourist might.

Small town with a few good eateries.

Small town with a few good eateries. Nothing fancy, just polite Southern people. I had to try the The River bbq place. the ribs were amazing! 12 hours of tender. bone slides right out. The Deerfield Inn is a good quiet place if you are planning on visiting Shiloh and Corinth (about 30 mi. away).

    Very convenient to Shiloh Battlefield.

Very convenient to Shiloh Battlefield. Home of Buford Pusser...that was pretty cool. Just so happened there was a car show on Saturday----saw some very cool and classic cars, people there were so friendly.
