Breakfast was not that good. The person assigned to keep it stocked didn't keep up with the amount of people and so some of the food wasn't available and some was dried out because it had been sitting there too long.

This is a fantastic city -- creative and vibrant with plenty of big city fun with a small town vibe! Eugene has a fantastic food scene and great book and music shopping and museums. My favourite is the Whiteaker Neighborhood; lots of fantastic dining options and live music plus parks and the beautiful river path. It is a great place to walk and cycle.

Eugene is a college town, and we chose to go on road trips instead of staying in town. If there are games going on, it can be quite hectic to try and get around the city. There are covered bridges to go and see in Cottage Grove, as well as waterfalls and other hikes to partake in in Cottage Grove and outside Eugene.

I will never go to Eugene in the winter again! So cold!
I will never go to Eugene in the winter again! So cold! And the rain never stopped for our entire stay. And the day we had planned to leave, I-5 was expected to be closed over Siskiyou Pass due to snow and high winds. We left a day early and drove home via the long route, over to 101 and then down the coast. Temp never got above 45 degrees and the rain never stopped, but at least we didn't have to deal with snow. If you need to go to Oregon, schedule it for the summer when it is actually quite pleasant.

It was good to tour the campus although we were there for a wedding. It was sad to see the homeless on the streets. Other than football and sports, I don't know what anyone would do on vacation. A trip to the winery was fun. Eugene is not for us.

Classic college town with a clear progressive and liberal tilt.
The scent of pot being smoke was not uncommon.
The city streets were CLEAN and there were very walkable sidewalks on most city streets.
I saw signs of a concerted public assistance to homeless populations rather than the constant conflict between the haves and the have-nots in Seattle.
I only spent one day but I would have liked to spend more to explore its nooks and crannies.

My family always loves staying in Eugene.
My family always loves staying in Eugene. We travel to the Ducks football games around three to four times at least every season. My family enjoys the location of the Hayward Inn because it is the perfect location for sporting events and amazing restaurants. We love the walk to Autzen Stadium from the hotel as well.
The hotel was QUIET and well located for the event we wanted to attend. The breakfast was "normal" for most hotels/motels in this price range: yogurt, cake-like muffins, bread/English muffins to toast, cereal, some fruit. The coffee and juice were both better than some places we have stayed. The pool was open late (or maybe all night) though we didn't use it. The fridge and microwave worked, and there was a desk with task lighting. The hotel was as expected and worked for us.
The room was clean and had a good view of Alton Baker park. The TV was big and had a channel guide and plenty of channels. Check in was a breeze and there were plenty of luggage carts even though the hotel was busy. The location is perfect for exploring the Eugene area. Although I don't have one, this place is very pet friendly and saw both cats and dogs;; although my room had no animal smells. The work out room and swimming pool is available 24 hrs.
I’ve stayed here multiple times and it’s my go to place to stay in Eugene now. The front desk is always very nice and helpful, check in is quick and easy, and the rooms are always clean and welcoming with comfortable beds. Rooms aren’t too expensive and it’s in a nice central location with many interesting spots within a 30 minute walk. Best of all, it’s about 3 blocks from Blairalley, my main reason for being in Eugene typically.
This is an older home remodeled with newly painted and decorated rooms. It is kind of a combination hostel and Hotel with a shared kitchen and living area. We had a king room with a private bath for a very reasonable price and the bed was super comfortable. The Riverpath Inn located in a hip area with lots of eating options, breweries, etc. so very convenient location. We will definitely stay there again next time we’re in Eugene.
I travel to Eugene often to visit family. My experience with other hotels in Eugene has ben that, being a college town, the hotels are well used and not the cleanest. The Hampton Inn on the other hand is very clean, and the stafff is very polite. I will be staying there again when I visit family in West Eugene.
It appears that Downtown Inn has been recently remodeled. All new surfaces - paint, carpet, etc. Very clean and comfortable. We requested a 'quiet room' which was quiet even though the Inn is on a fairly busy street. We will definitely stay here again when visiting Eugene.
The room and bathroom were both immaculate. The bed was very comfortable. The carpet was relatively new, the size of the room was good, parking and check-in were easy, the front desk staff were friendly, efficient, and professional, and the hotel is in an excellent location.
Amazingly clean and new. Room is big and bright (with light blocking shades if you don’t want bright). Bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds ever. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and ice water 24/7! Gym is tiny, but has everything including several kettle bells.
The breakfast facility, pool and gym looked newly remodeled. Personal and vehicle safety was never in doubt. The bed was very comfortable. Room was clean. Not a noisy area. Can walk to restaurants, pizza, Hirons and grocery store. The University is across the street.
Very nice room, extremely clean, comfortable bed, convenient location - can walk to many restaurants. No coffee machine in room but there is a Starbucks a short walk from the hotel. All in all a comfortable place to stay in downtown Eugene.
it was fabulously convenient. There was a breakfast area and the swimming pool and washing facilities were an extra bonus. The staff were done if the best in the world, and they made our stay superb. I will definitely come again.
The room was huge and the tile floor was very clean and non allergenic. Nice room had a refrigerator and microwave. Check-in was easy and desk person was pleasant and competent. Price was cheap for Eugene, Oregon
The guy at checkin was a real hoot and so friendly and ready with info. The room was nicer than I expected and breakfast good. Downtown was a short walk away and felt very safe walking to and from.
Warm welcome from manager. Nice old style boutique hotel only few blocks from the university. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Complementary breakfast was delicious! Excellent bedding.
check in clerk was pleasant and efficient.
dog area was green, mowed, close, convenient, and had a bag and trash dispenser.
room was clean with clean towels and sheets and furniture.
Kitchen was well stocked for a small hotel room, extra space was large for a “normal” hotel room, small if you are really looking for a separate living area. Staff was very courteous.
