Love the antique and unique shops on Commercial in downtown Astoria. Toured the Flavel House, which I definitely recommend. Found a funky sportsbar called the MerryTime which serves giant juicy burgers. Love the sound of the seals and the maritime feel of Astoria.

Astoria is a busy place, lots to do.
Astoria is a busy place, lots to do. We went down to spend time with young grandchildren and took a good friend and his son. Booking.com advertises This motel at $60 a night and it was $175 a night so we could not stay as long as we would have liked. I think misrepresentation like this is a crime and I felt cheated.. The motel blamed the price change on Booking.com.

The hotel location was super.
The hotel location was super. We were within walking distance of a few restaurants. We ate at the Bridgewater Bay Bistro only a couple of minutes walk. The fresh caught halibut was wonderfully tasty. We also ate at a local Mexican restaurant, El Tiapatio, (10-minute walk) from hotel. The restaurant was colorful and food and drinks were great. Many locals were also dining there. The riverwalk is directly in front of the hotel. There is some construction on it, so it was not as accessible as it might have been. The Trolley is running only from 1-4 pm. Museums are a 30-35 minute walk from the hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed the Heritage Museum with history of Astoria.

The bed was horrible! It hurt my hips and back.
The bed was horrible! It hurt my hips and back. They need to upgrade them. Please go back to cleaning the rooms, we should not have to ask for towels and be treated like we shouldn't be asking for more, even though we're staying more than one day.
I thought breakfast on the first morning was great. The second morning not as great but the guy tried and was pleasant. I just thought maybe someone called in. The room was great, the fact that dredging was going on and not many boats, none close up, was disappointing. This was a nostalgia trip, I love Astoria and have probably stayed at every motel/hotel in the town over 50 years. Wanted to come back to this one again because we never had a bad time with anything there. Thanks for the opportunity to fill out this form.
The breakfast met all of my benchmarks for a hotel breakfast. The ham was bad. I had to throw it away. But, I love the bisquits and gravy format. I make a waffle and add gravy and egg on top. I should have used the hardboiled eggs which are a must for this dish but I got lazy and regr egged it. The fake eggs were a no also. but, The basics were there, along with fresh fruit, yogurt oatmeal cereal and juice. I would come back. We really apreciated our early check in.
The location is excellent and the staff is very friendly.
Finishing the day on the rooftop with a nightcap was excellent. Great view of the town behind you and the ships on the water.
Didn't get the breakfast, but would consider it after covid restrictions lift and there is possibly more variety. Excellent coffee though!
We will go back because of the excellent location, but will call the hotel directly to book so we hopefully get a nicer/better room.
My husband and I wanted to get away for a mini vacation, in the month of July things book very quickly and prices for hotels more than double. We found this place for a reasonable price and were not expecting much. We were delightfully surprised! Great room. View of the ocean! No early check in, but when we arrived it was super quick and easy to check in! Will definitely be staying there on all visits to Astoria, Seaside, and Cannon Beach!
The decor was cute! Fun and colorful to help liven up an old motel. The bed was actually surprisingly comfortable. The staff were very friendly! Cheaper option in Astoria if you just need a place to spend the night. Not the kind of place you’d want to hang at for a long time but worked great for just a place to sleep! Hot water was good.
Location was great--next to Pier 39 (great coffee shop and interesting museum and kayak rentals). Water view excellent and having a balcony was a nice feature. The walking path leading to down was right out in front of the hotel so very convenient. Breakfast was great--good variety, and staff kept the area well stocked and clean.
Apparently this classic hotel was refurbished in the 2000's and they did a fabulous job with new everything. The beds are comfortable, the showers are good, and the hotel has style. The breakfast is hot and cooked by a person not the made up food you'll get at a chain. It's luxury from the 1930s updated.
I was surprised by the cleanliness that this facility provided! I was a little nervous about the shared bathroom situation but they were so clean and i didn’t have any troubles. I loved the little space I got to stay in and the rest of the hotel was also nicely out together.
The view of the harbor from our balcony was superb. The size of the room was adequate. The location was close to the heart of Astoria and the other attractions around the area. Traveling to the other nearby towns was easily accessible.
We love the friendly staff, and clean comfortable accommodations. Easy walking distance to everything in downtown Astoria. Excellent craft cocktails and farm to table meals. It's our new favorite place to stay.
It was my first time staying in a hotel like that but I actually liked sharing the kitchen. Everything is new and modern and location was so convenient.
