It was terrible. Wyndham Wingate. Huge spots on rug.
It was terrible. Wyndham Wingate. Huge spots on rug. Not vaccuumed (2 different rooms) Vinyl headboards flaking off onto pillows. Smell. We checked out immediately after we went to an alternate room and it was the same. I am waiting for a refund which I have been told I would get from Booking.com but have not seen it. This review is for the Wyndham Wingate not the town of Ashland. The town was cute.

Ashland is a small college town so there is not a lot to do there. They do have an excellent coffee shop (goldberry) and a couple of really good restaurants. South Street in downtown has excellent food. Try the gooey butter cake for dessert. Grandpa's cheese barn is a good stop too. Huge variety of cheeses and other souvenir gifts. Fur, Fin, and Feather is a good place to shop for recreational and outdoor clothing and supplies plus they carry an excellent coffee line.

Ashland is a nice town.
Ashland is a nice town. It has newer retail on the outskirts of the main downtown area. Main original downtown is still vibrant with local eateries and bars.
Ashland University is a beautifully maintained campus
From looking at it from the outside you would think not a very good hotel. Room was clean and smelled clean when you came in has a mini fridge and microwave tv . Does have a pool which we didn't use. Came to watch the football game at Ashland and see our daughter March in the band would stay here again. We travel alot and this was a great find
Wingate just took over the property. it was under another hotel name and very run down. Word is that Wingate going to do a complete overhaul of the property soon, but I’d wait until the renovations where completed Ed before booking this hotel.
It is the only pet friendly hotel in/around Ashland. Not a whole lot about this place to like other than it was a place to sleep. The staff was friendly and since I pre-paid, check-in and out was easy.
Good location. Close to gas station and freeway. At first our room was not ready but the very nice front desk agent immediately put us into a new room and up graded it to a king bed.
It's by far the closest hotel to the Ashland Fairgrounds. No frills but adequate and the bed was very comfy. Don't expect luxury. Bring your own shampoo and lotions.
