Fin 'N Feather Waterside Inn by Kees Vacations, hotel in Nags Head

Nags Head beaches are 1 mile away from this North Carolina motel. Guests can go fishing or kayaking from the private dock or explore Roanoke Island 3 miles away.

The location was perfect. It was a close drive to South Nags Head, Manteo, and Rodanthe. This is the main reason that we chose the site. The other plus is that for a couple who both fish and paddle board, the location was outstanding. My husband was so happy to fish both salt and brackish waters and have the option to fish in several locations and two bait shops within a few hundred yards of the location. Paddlers (kayak, paddleboards) will also love the location because of it's proximity to the salt marsh, shallow waters-the wind was touch and go, but that's part of it when you travel to the OBX. We went to the National Refuge (with trails) in Manteo and also the National Park-Lost Colony. Manteo is always the best little side trip. So quaint, so perfect. The Alligator River is not too far either...there is a nice welcome center and refuge there as well. We didn't see any bears or alligators though. Others we talked to did though. The hotel/resort was quiet, although it appeared to be full, we never heard anything from our neighbors. I liked the text communication from the KEES resort and the pinpad for entry into the room. The trex dock, dock, and fish cleaning station off the back of the hotel/resort were great. We spent a couple of hours fishing and paddle boarding literally steps from our room door. It was private enough and we got a great little cove to work out of.

    🌞Nags Head is excellent!❤️🐬🐬🐬Great service.

🌞Nags Head is excellent!❤️🐬🐬🐬Great service. Friendly people. Lighthouses were fantastic! OBX is very easy to navigate & beautiful! Great food everywhere! Experienced everything south, from Hatteras to an awesome Corolla beach drive(looking for the wild mustangs)!👍🏻 *lesson learned the hard way…must have 4wd to drive on the beach. Make sure to lower all tire pressures to 18 pounds & stay in the packed sand. Corolla City Park is little over a mile away to refill your tires. HAVE FUN!!!

Obx is wonderful! Manteo great town to explore off season.

Obx is wonderful! Manteo great town to explore off season. Can't say enough about this area. But it is better to visit off season months or it's extremely expensive. Booking.com needs to do much better on communication!!!!! Probably won't use again

What a fun visit! Fall at the beach is hit or miss.

What a fun visit! Fall at the beach is hit or miss. It was windy but not bad. We walked the beach, visited piers, shopped in quaint stores, ate in local restaurants & just enjoyed the area. Beautiful long weekend! Highly recommend looking at restaurants that are not chains—enjoy local specialties! Fish Heads and Sam & Omies were great! Get to Manteo & check out the history there too!

Nags Head and surrounding towns were typical beach...

Nags Head and surrounding towns were typical beach attractions. Our visit was almost end of season, but shopping and restaurants were still open and staffed. We typically visit the Outer Banks NC at least once every other year, but try to visit off season in early Spring or Fall. The Wright Brothers Museum is a great attraction, and since we travel with our pet dog found some excellent off leash dog parks.

I liked the beautiful beaches. Great local restaurants. One in particular that is a must go to when vacationing is Tortuga's Lie, great Carribean food. Best shop to shop for gifts is Parrot Bay-lots of beautiful things to buy. Many activities to see, in particular, Wright Brothers museum. Lighthouses-Bodie, Cape Hatteras, etc., are another must do!!

The location was great, near enough to do everything we wanted (beach, museums, water sports, dinner, ice cream!). We had a third floor room with fabulous views of the ocean and a well appointed balcony. The hotel was literally on the beach. We had an efficiency and it was great to have a kitchenette to do some of our meals in. This is an old fashioned beach motel, not fancy but very comfortable. We will definitely stay here every time we come to the OBX!

Room was very clean. Breakfast was a joke!! Hot breakfast was not available until 8am and the continental earlier breakfast was terrible. Bananas were too ripe to eat, meager so-called bake goods were terrible. Very disappointed. Main problem was our room in the adjacent building had no elevator and my husband and I in our late 70’s had to work up 2 double flights of stairs. Hotel could not move us because they were full.

We had a 3rd floor corner bedroom, which was awesome and the indoor pool/hot was a nice bonus. Room was spacious and larger than most oceanfront hotel bedrooms I've stayed in. Walkable distance to Cahoons and Sam&Omies. I believe every room is pet friendly. You get both beach sunrises and sound sunset views.

    - next to beach - view of beach from far - quite clean - everything you need there for a short stay - comfortable bed - parking lot available - check in via Skype worked very well (late check in) - soap dispenser (better than small toiletries which make lots of trash like in other hotels)
