There are many interesting things to see and do in Ely. Even if you aren't a canoe enthusiast, there is the International Wolf Center, the Bear Center, awesome waterfalls, etc. that accommodate everyone. Shopping is fun. The only thing it lacks is places to go for breakfast. We had a great time and we are seniors The many lakes are beautiful too!

The staff was friendly and helpful.

The staff was friendly and helpful. There was some confusion at the front desk about boat rentals but it was cleared up at the marina. The room was nice, clean and quiet so we slept well. You can request a lake view room and open the window and hear the loons. We were across from the pool but never hear anyone. The restaurant takes reservations and the food was good. Strong water pressure that led to some standing water when showering but not much. Kid and dog friendly. Has a pool, sauna and hot tub that are open till 11 pm. There's a game room and we played ping pong. It was very lovely. Close to town center. The Chocolate Moose in town was fantastic but a long wait for dinner. Lots of cute shops.

Ely is great! LOVE that city!

Ely is great! LOVE that city! Would have loved to been able to go to a few more places but due to covid this year some were curbside only so wasn’t able to buy a pair of mukluks this trip as planned. (I wanted to try some on and not catalog/curbside). Brittons Cafe was exceptional! Love their breakfasts! Can’t find that old fashioned homestyle like that anymore. Again, I just love Ely.

    I truly enjoy this town.

I truly enjoy this town. My main focus is the International Wolf Center. One day I’ll take a canoe trip. A casual town with friendly people and a decent amount of restaurants. Truly an outdoor Mecca for campers and campers..

This is not our first trip to Ely by any stretch.

This is not our first trip to Ely by any stretch. The Wolf Center is an excellent experience for families. The town has a fun mix of interesting shops, especially outfitters. We worked with Piragis to outfit us for a day paddle on Hegman Lake (highly recommend that one). This is one of those towns to which we love to return.

On the edge of the boundary waters, the city provides convenient access to beautiful hiking trails and gorgeous lakes. There is also a plethora of great tourist attractions such as the International Wolf Center, excellent coffee shops (I recommend Northern Grounds), and northern Minnesota themed stores, such as Piragis Northwoods Company. There is also a cute park near downtown that makes a great spot for picnics. Another plus side is that the town is compact enough that everything is a convenient walking distance.
