Portland is a walkable city.
Portland is a walkable city. Too many wonderful restaurants for one trip! My favorites from this trip: Fore Street Restaurant, Honey Paw, and Jing Yan. My husband loved Bar Futo and the bar at Via Vecchia.

We live in Massachusetts, but we love visiting Maine. We usually stop at the Kittery Trading Post along our drive. In Portland we like to take in historical homes and sites like the Victorian Mansion or the Henry Wadsworth Longfellow home. There are lots of restaurants and pubs in the waterfront area. Best seafood ever.
Best seafood ever. Very nice restaurants and bars and excellent, friendly service in all places. Nice little interior or similar shops. Some more or less interesting galleries, interesting Arts Museum. But two full days are enough for visiting downtown Portland. Lovely hiking trails at about 30 minutes from the town.

The rooms were set up simply and open. The master soaker tub was amazing, and the fact that we could bring our pup was a huge stress relief. Great location! Close enough to everything in Portland, but the little distance (about 10 min) from downtown was perfect since we were traveling as a young family. The check in and out was smooth and the communication efficient.

Room and bathroom were clean and the bed comfortable. My room faced the back, so I didn't hear any traffic noise. As a light sleeper I consider this an important point. The staff was polite and helpful and suggested good places to eat. There is no restaurant, but a few steps away is a good Mediterranean (Greek, Lebanese) place. The downtown area, full of restaurants and cafés, is within walking distance. I really recommend this hotel.

The room and walkway had a mold smell. The bedding was a bit dirty. The vending machine was out of order and it appeared that there was only one vending machine. The location was a bit further out of downtown Portland for the price. The overall atmosphere of the hotel was not good. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

The fridge and microwave were "newish". The price was in line with other Portland lodging. The garage is actually adjacent to the hotel so very easy to access and you can go in and out all you want for only a $10 a day charge.
