I'm not saying that Albany is not a beautiful city but my experience there was horrible I had got sick at the restaurant Chili's on Ledo My husband and I will already upset that it was pouring down raining and it was cold on top of that the food was just not great anywhere it was no place that stood out Austin's the service there was horrible I didn't know that racism is really that bad but apparently it is but my experience in Albany Georgia I rated as a three I think I enjoyed the ride there and the ride back because the whole time that I was in Albany was disappointing The highlight of our trip was when we stopped at Mike's country meat store on highway 12 I was like a kid and a candy store as well as my husband we spent over $200 in that particular store I brought home a Boston butt smoked it was to die for

We checked out the Chehaw zoo and the Thronateeska history museum while we were there, but there was more to do than time to do it. Both venues seemed like interesting places but also seemed like they could use some support.

I spent two nights here.
I spent two nights here. When I first arrived I made sure to ask if no one would come into my room for clean up because I bring my own things. However, when I returned to my room the next day two of my items was missing and the hotel staff did not seem interested in finding or accommodating for my missing items. So I reached out to the manager and in return she had the worse attitude about the entire situation. She acted like my missing items was my fault and basically told me her housekeeper doesn’t steal. To add to my frustrations there was a bug in the room flying around and the internet did not work so I couldn’t do my assignments on my computer. This was a horrible experience and I will NOT be returning.

Albany has a lot of undesirable foot traffic and homeless people that are allowed to beg.
Merry Acres does a very good job of keeping the property safe and it is tucked away on its on little compound so the foot traffic is not on the property but you see it everywhere on the main roads and fast food restaurants when you leave Merry Acres.

I'm sure this town was thriving at some point, but those days are long gone. Most of the downtown area is boarded up. It definitely has the potential to be a beautiful town again. but it's going to take a lot of work and funds. I would highly recommend The Flint. It is a restaurant in the downtown area nest to the Flint River. Great food, great atmosphere, and great service. Hands down, one of the highlights of my trip.

What I like what is the people.
What I like what is the people. They were friendly and helpful and I did the best they could with the sorry hotel that they had to work in. The sheets in my hotel room looked as if they had been slept on. They were replaced. They were not quite enough towels but I may do with what I had. The lighting in the room was not very bright. Please understand in my opinion of the hotel has nothing to do with its employees. My criticism is of the old, neglected building That is called a hotel. It needs serious upgrades.
Manager was very rude they didn't have any towels nor rags I was there 4 days without housekeeping. We couldn't watch tv a hole day because staff didn't inform any to fix it. Manager was cussing at me acting she wanted to fight. Everytime we asked for trash bags never got any. All that comes wit da service of the room an we didn't get it. I will never go BK there again she's very disrespectful as a Manager. Attitude was not good trash stayed in the hallway over night nothing was done about it. PERIOD
Not one thing. If I were to give the hotel a rating it would be a minus 1000. There was no breakfast. The breakfast area looked like a storage area. The room they gave us had no phone, microwave didn't work, the door look like a police battering ram was used on it and the screen on the window was torn out. This was room 112. Oh and the pool was green with algae. My husband even saw a turtle come to the surface. WHAT?
I traveled here for work and after reading reviews this was the best hotel I could afford at the time. I'm posting because the reviews really make a difference and my stay was clean and peaceful no complaints. Thank you and I'll stay here again if I could.
Surrounding were beautiful, the pool area was pretty as well as the reception and breakfast room area. Would have been lovely to use the beautiful pool area but there was a huge thunder storm at that time.
The front desk staff was exceptional. It made the whole experience that much more enjoyable. Truly best in the business, even compared to hotels that charge $400+ a night.
