I was only there for the NHRA drag racing at the Gainesville track so didn't have time to see anything of Gainesville. But the Red Roof was very convenient for Gainesville Raceway, only 15 miles away so I would definitely return

Getting around Gainesville is very easy.
Getting around Gainesville is very easy. There's lots to do there. We visited the Butterfly Exhibit but did not have enough time to see the Museum of Natural History or the Art Museum. No lack of dining options. We chose to dine at Carabbas and both the service and food didn't disappoint. Lots of places to shop. With the University of Florida located there, it provided for a very youthful environment which we totally enjoyed. This is a town worthy of a visit.

Easy to get around. On Archer Rd and around the I75 exit, there was every store/resturant you could imagine. Gainesville is definitely a college town. Shands Hospital is wonderful and very conveniently located.

Loved university of FL! We went for a college tour.
Loved university of FL! We went for a college tour. While our walking tour was cancelled due to rain, the students did an excellent job speaking and telling us about the highlights of the school. We were lucky to have spent time walking around the day before. It’s a beautiful school. Very impressed. Also….Sweet Pete’s candy shop was awesome!! So much fun to walk through a 3 story candy shop! Beautifully decorated for fall/Halloween! Yummy too! 😍

Well Gainesville around UF is very much a college town and a bit run down. Away from the University it had several nice looking neigborhoods but without UF, Gainsville would not have much going for it.
The location was great. Located near UF and surrounded by Regal Cinemas and a variety of shops and dining locations. It's a wonderful location to walk around. There was free parking in the garage across the street and the hotel included a stocked bar and restaurant. Compared to the other hotels in the surrounding area this newly built hotel is worth the premium.
For the price, this hotel far exceeded our expectations. It was in a great location, was extremely clean, and, despite several sports teams staying there at the same time, was VERY quiet! Great amenities, including an excellent fitness room and snack center. Incredibly friendly staff. Will definitely stay there again!
Super convenient and close to Gainesville city & UF. Just off I-75 but quiet.
Booking was easy. Great value for money. WILL STAY AGAIN.
Good internet.
This is essentially a no frills place and As advertised.
Really nice stay in room that has good, comfy beds and useful microwave, refrigerator small kitchen area.
The staff was very friendly and our hotel room was quiet as our room was on the opposite side of the interstate. There was locks on the doors leading to the hallway which was nice. The house keeping lady was very nice and help resolve our missing towels and sheet issues.
This was our 2nd stay in this hotel in the past month. It's in a perfect location close to the doctor's office that we needed to see. It was just as comfortable and welcoming as it was the first time. This will most certainly become our hotel whenever we visit Gainesville!
Staff at front desk were very welcoming and friendly. Hot coffee and tea available 24hrs. It was a cold, rainy night when we got there so it was really comforting to be offered a nice warm towel to dry off at the front desk and a hot cup of tea.
The location was great. Other than that...not much. I'm sorry but I need to keep righting more so I check the box here. There isn't much that was good. I expected the "Grand Hotel" to be grand but it was a cheap motel for like $140/night.
The hotel was clean and comfortable, the staff very friendly and helpful, the location very close to 75 and the University of Florida in Gainesville, with two restaurants right next door to it. Would go back. A real find and economical.
Aloft is the best hotel experience we had during our 2-week road trip and we stayed in 7 different hotels during that time. We've always liked the Aloft in Dallas area and we're happy that the Gainesville one lived up to expectations.
At first, they were very polite and even let us check in early. The outside of the hotel is very nice looking with a fresh paint job. The rooms also, at first glance, looked nice.
It went downhill very fast though.
The Drury Inn is my new favorited hotel to stay in when I travel. The room was spotless, the bed very comfy, plush towels, soft pillows, HDTV, and I love the shower head they use. Hospitality hour is amazing.
Very nice simple but clean and with a great location if your florida springs . Suites a medium size family and close to many good eating locations . With easy check in and check out process and free parking .
Hampton Inn is my favorite hotel chain. the beds and pillows are very comfortable, the breakfast is good and staff is always friendly. Bonus points for a pet friendly hotel and always very clean.
