Not fond of Victorville. Way too much wind.

Not fond of Victorville. Way too much wind. Don't know if its like that all the time. Yet it and the other communities along Bear Valley Rd. are thriving like any other 'strip town' (all businesses seem located along Bear Valley Rd.) in the US. Plenty of shops of all kinds, not just the many gas stations and fast food places, but most anything you care to find. A bonus was a business that had an indoor track for RC cars and long rows of stations where you could build your own RC car--which of course is what they sold. That place alone might make Victorville a hobbyists paradise. My reason for staying was the 3 day high power rocket launch in the Lucern Dry lake bed. They do the 3 day thing 2 times a year but every month, weather permitting we have a Saturday launch there. So I may be coming out every month for that event. It will be fun exploring the town occasionally when the wind isn't too bad. Plenty of motels, just make sure you see the ratings first. You will want to pay a descent price (not too cheap) and stay away from the ones next to I-15 if you want a room that is reasonably quiet. Most hotels are along Bear Valley Rd. so some noise is to be expected. Careful searching may a yield a hotel farther away from noise. Just don't go too cheap or you may regret it. A nice hotel in Victorville rewards the cost.

The high desert landscape is nice with all the rocks, boulders, desert plants. Historic Route 66. Many new homes. Opportunity to own a large yard. 30 more minutes or so to Barstow. Many places to stop and eat.

Victorville is a cruddy meth hole where a bunch of drug addicts run around and the cops don’t bother them. I wouldn’t recommend going to the city unless you want to deal with a bunch of homeless drug addicts.

We were in town for a funeral and the hotel location was perfectly between family that were in both Apple Valley and Victorville. The Hilton Staff members were very friendly and helpful. It was a treat to stop at the free coffee bar to make a quick cup to go when leaving in the morning. After a sorrowful day, it was nice to walk next door over to the miniature golf/game place and have a little fun.

Sufficient parking spots at the hotel parking. Many restaurants and Starbucks in the vicinity of the hotel, big Walmart next to the hotel. Close to the Victorville Mall. Next to the Interstate 15.

we checked into the hotel and it did not look like the pictures. iy was run down and there were bugs on the floor, the bathroom was a mess and had broken tiles and it smelled so bad like there was a dead animal in the room. I know it said non refundable but that room was unacceptable and would appreciate it if I could get a refund for the room.

I was NOT able to stay in my room even though I was charged the fee.. by the time I got to the hotel there was no one that could help me check in. Charlie the owner was even in the building and didn’t even bother to come out of his room and work something out with me he simply hung up the phone. So unprofessional and rude!

We didn't have breakfast. But we ate dinner at the hotel twice. The food was exceptional, but a little hint....the salads are WAY to big. One salad could feed 3 people so for that I think it's a waste of food. The staff was great. We had a handicapped room, which I did not request but it was fine.

They charged me extra after I requested to leave the room they gave within 30 mins of checking in and see the room. I left and went to another hotel because I felt like my room was already broken into. Forget this place 300 for a smoke detector. From. Where Dubai
