A very large room with a super comfy king-size bed and plenty of furniture: (2 tables, 3 chairs, 2 bedside tables), a clothes closet and a cooking niche, with fridge & microwave. It seemed to have been recently remodeled & we enjoyed the coal-mining theme of the decor. I would definitely recommend.

We had a great stay at Jacque Cartier Motel. The room was very clean and comfortable and we got a bag of extras on arrival including treats and coffee. We were there for a soccer tournament at the university campus and the location was perfect - just around the corner - but also very close to town. The proprietor was great about adjusting our check out time to match our game schedule.

The people are so friendly, always happy to talk with you and help where needed. All the bus drivers were so helpful. Restaurants we visited served good food, friendly staff. Spent our time at World Curling event, met wonderful locals and nice visitors "from away"

Sydney will never be what it was back in the 50 and 60s., with the
Steel Plant, fishing and the closing of the coal mines in the area but
if you have lived here in the past you can still enjoy the scenery.

Dominion beach was the best beach out of the few i went to it was very long to accommodate many people, it had plenty of sand for the little ones, it was quite cold but not much worse than many other bodies of water.
Fortress of louisburg was pretty interesting just be sure to pack your own snacks and drinks as their food and drinks are extremely overpriced, it is chilly to start (on a 21C day) but gets quite warm once walking around and if you can avoid bringing a stroller it will be much easier to get around.
Two rivers wildlife park was a good spot to check out the animals, good luck seeing the moose but worth the trip, the canteen is reasonably priced with a good variety of fried foods to choose from which were very delicious.
Many of the tourist spots are pretty far away so we did not get to tour many places such as fundy bay to see the tides or the cabot trail or lunenberg because it is a lot of driving and we drove to cape breton from southern ontario.
Make sure to keep your plastic bottles because you pay deposits at the grocery stores!
It is a little bit more of an expensive place to travel to but the ocean views, sunsets and the amazing friendliness of the locals makes it worth it all in the end.

Cape Breton is a lovely place but a huge price-gouging tourist trap. Lots of places haven't recovered from COVID so many places were either closed or short-staffed. The weather is getting crazy too.
Booking.com was the biggest pain in the ass. In a number of situations, they were confusing, unhelpful, and useless. Far better to call the motel directly and avoid this European-owned and operated app.

Excellent place to visit, so much to do.
Excellent place to visit, so much to do. We ended up staying at North Sidney at the "Hotel North" Excellent location, very clean rooms, right at the Newfoundland Ferry launch. Excellent restaurant and close to plenty of amenities.
Staff, cleanliness and quality of the room were well above average. The best hotel we have stayed at in many years. Beds were incredibly comfy. Staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was extraordinary. Room was quiet and extremely well appointed; this, despite families and school kids staying in the same place. You couldn't tell at all once in the room. Allowed us to get the rest we badly needed. A real treat.
Very friendly, funny, and welcoming staff - the front desk employees and cleaning personnel were all very personable.
This is the first hotel I've stayed in where I didn't have to call for more towels - plenty are provided. Lots of shampoo/body wash vs the little one-time use bottles you find at most other properties.
The pillows are heaven!
The self-serve coffee/tea/ hot chocolate bar in lobby was so nice
The room was clean and comfy, though noisy, but the hotel is right on the main street so that was expected. Sharing a washroom was ok, I really never saw the other guests using it, though hey, guys, put the toilet seat back down, ok? The location is excellent for those who want to explore downtown Sydney. Lots of great restaurants close by, and right across the street from the Esplanade walk.
Great location walking distance to the Sydney boardwalk. We loved the "drive up” feature where we could park right in front of the room door and load and unload our car straight into the room. The breakfast was fantastic and the coffee machine in the lobby came in handy (especially considering that it was accessible 24/7). The room was clean and the beds were comfortable.
Room was as expected for this age of Hotel. Liked the Kings Wings bar and grill. Good view of the harbor. The architecture was an older style. You could see how the design had changed over the years. Would have liked to see the fireplace going while enjoying our meal. One of the best chicken wraps I've ever had.
The hotel and facilities which I used were generally quite acceptable for the price paid. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The complimentary hot and cold breakfast buffet was varied and filling. Free parking was ample and directly in front of the hotel.
I booked this place multiple times and we book it because there is a hot tub in the pool area. This time the hot tub was cold. My regular bathtub at home is hotter than it was. Disappointing as that was the reason why we book this particular hotel.
I loved the old building and vintage furniture. It was spotless clean , no funny hotel smells and In a great location! The bed was comfy. I loved it. I've told everyone to stay there.
The hotel is very conveniently located, the rooms are decent, it is close to very good restaurants and it has a pool. Breakfast was OK, it also has a restaurant on site.
The bed was comfortable enough and it was the closest hotel to the Sydney airport. I did like that they gave me two mallow pies at check in. Those hit the spot.
Great location if you have a car
Very friendly staff
Lovely water views from the back of the hotel
Easy parking, lots of room
Nice outdoor seating areas
