I liked how relaxed and friendly the place was. Jodie, (the owners daughter) was very friendly, and even came in early to do me and my Sister's breakfast, because we were there for a 2 day Dry Stone Walling Course, which started at 8AM.
It was a pleasure meeting Howard the owner as well left, and hope he has a speedy recovery.

I only use Bridgend as a stopover as I could not find reasonably priced room in Cardiff that was in a safe area for a woman travelling alone. There was a big football match and concert on in Cardiff that Tuesday night and that is why I booked further afield as there was very little choice in my price range available.

Old Manor House with an old-fashioned touch, a bit out of times but comfortable, clean and with refurbished bath rooms.
We we arrived there was a school graduation party we had not been made aware of. Fortunately it finished at 10 pm, so did not bother us in the end.
Very good Indian restaurant. Very good breakfast.

I can only comment on Days Inn (where we stayed) as we were visiting family and didn't spend any time in Bridgend. The location was quiet, the room was clean and the staff were friendly. The bed was very good quality and we had a good night's sleep. The only downside was that there was nowhere nearby to have breakfast.
Pool truly is lovely, also the sauna and steam room too, the rooms are super clean and beds are very comfortable, great staff, helpful and friendly, the area is in easy reach of town even if you don't drive regular bus not far into Bridgend and Cardiff. Breakfast was tasty on the first day it was served to us which was tiny, however on the second day you served yourself which was much better. Overall good experience and would come back and would recommend but be aware of what I've written below.
Liz and Rob are so hospitable, there isn't anything I could find fault with during my stay. This wasn't my first time at Ballas, as I remember being made so welcome the first time I was in South Wales as a solo traveller, I brought mum this time!
The rooms are spotless, the beds are so comfortable, and it's in a perfect spot to get out and about. Breakfasts are first class, and nothing is too much trouble. Absolutely would recommend this place to anyone staying in the area.
Easy parking and quiet location.
Evening meal - the food was absolutely stunning, one of the best meals I have had in a long time. Talented chef / kitchen staff for sure. Such a refreshing change to my weekly hotel stays.
Nice restaurant area and cosy little pub part too
Staff nice, young man in the afternoon was particularly professional and friendly.
pillows and mattress comfortable
Lovely little cottage near Bridgend. The property is wonderfully finished to a really good specification. Had a warm, cosy feel about the property with internal stonework, log fire and ceiling beams. We booked for Easter weekend and arrived to Easter cakes which was a nice touch by the host. We would 100% recommend the property, and will certainly be returning in the future.
The hotel is very welcoming and has a lovely outdoor area. It is a beautiful character building and very comfortable. During our stay the staff were so friendly and super helpful. The room was clean and had a very comfortable bed, and the breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. We would definitely return if we needed to stay in the area again.
Price of stay was very good considering Six Nations Rugby in Cardiff that weekend. Hotel had a nice Wetherspoons for food/drink with a great atmosphere. Room was very clean and a king size bed and a sofa bed, one of the best rooms I have ever stayed in. En suite bathroom was excellent. Would recommend to a friend and would come again
Howard is an outstanding host, always charming, friendly, with nothing too much trouble. The room was great; large, huge bed, lovely bathroom. Great breakfast and an excellent location for the area. Couldn't have been better and we could have happily stayed much longer.
Very peaceful area, 10 minutes away from shops and restaurants in Bridgend, 5 minutes away from the beach and more rural pubs. Good sized room with TV, free wifi and fridge, room was squared away daily by staff, massive and very comfy bed, excellent shower water pressure.
The guest house was lovely for our short stay. There were nice touches in the spacious room like a fridge & microwave, tea & coffee making facilities which was great. Tony was very welcoming and helpful. We will definitely be staying again when we are back in Wales.
The property is an old stone terraced cottage but has been sympathetically extended with a high standard of fittings and decor, the location was very close to the town centre but in a quiet street. Excellent breakfast cooked to order by the host!
We liked everything about the house, it was
comfortable and snazzy. The hosts have thought of everything.
Our check in was super easy. The location is perfect for day trips around South Wales and handy for local shops and shopping delivery.
Great character hotel in a former stately home. Well located for visiting Bridgend and Porthcawl. Wonderful cooked English breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff, huge, safe parking space, comfortable rooms. In short, to be recommended.
Lovely clean room. Cost me less than £50 to stay for the night. So many hotels are really shabby at this price but this one was lovely. Will come backWhen I am in Bridgend again.
I liked the facilities, especially being able to use the microwave for heating store bought food and the available green space around the hotel for late mid-night dog needs.
