It is a very old hotel. The whole property either gets warm air or cold air. Unfortunately, the hotel staff decided they were chilly and the entire hotel was set to heat. The hotel has AC but the entire hotel either gets AC or heat. If you are either hot or cold and not in the populous, prepare to be uncomfortable.

Our room was very spacious, clean and decorated very nicely. The Breakfast was very good. We were given several choices how we would like our eggs prepared. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Pool area was great. Everything in the house is beautiful. The property is managed by the son of the owner. It used to be the primary family home. Now it feels like a cross between luxurious B&B and luxurious hotel. Secured parking was nice.

Beautiful vacation apartment. Lots of space, well stocked kitchen, a quiet secluded feel to the apartment. Fatima provided a lovely breakfast at a very reasonable price.

A vista do café da manhã e a acomodação são excelentes.
We loved the welcome and helpful staff. The room we had and views were excellent. we were able to extend our stay to go on a riverboat and steam train as well as visit Pocinho. The wine bar opposite the Museum was excellent and the Museum well worth a visit.

The Douro Valley is beautiful. Our stay was too short.
The Douro Valley is beautiful. Our stay was too short. The big thing I would encourage travelers to do is to make reservations and tour plans prior to visit. Wineries are often booked for bigger tours and not accepting drop ins.

We loved our stay. The family and staff are amazing! I can't emphasize how welcome we felt. The dinner was delicious and the port/wine parings lovely. They also arranged taxis for us on two occasions. Would love to come back.

Very friendly welcome but took a few minutes to gain access to the property. It was a 25 minute walk to the station but taxis readily available and affordable. Close to supermarkets.
Tio Manel restaurant in Regua was excellent - in terms of food quality, service and pricing.
Boat trips from Quayside to Pinhao and from there to a selection of Quintas. The Croft tour and tasting was very good - informative and good value for money.

It was the height of the tourist season (middle of August) and there was also a public holiday. The town was very busy and put quite a strain on restaurants and bars. Previous visits have been off season and the town copes a lot better, providing a more relaxed experience.
The views were stunning from our room porch, loved the sense of peace and tranquility throughout the living areas, and the smells cannot be explained, you have to be present.
Hotel dinners with wine tasting, and also the inclusive wine experience, was the best we had in this trip; Marcus was very experienced, informative and fun, he took time to consider our likes and the opportunity to sample wines at dinner was excellent.
Room and bathroom were large, newly renovated with good ac and awesome views. Owners and service were outstanding. The best location in all of Regua if you ask me. Pool was amazing after a hot day in the valley. Owners prepared us a delicious tapas/ dinner on the property upon request. The breakfast was included and equally delicious. Homemade yogurt jams honey . Small , exclusive and an amazing find.
It is a great privilege to experience a hotel that takes pride to reflect its rich heritage. The first time we experience such a spacious room with King size bed, with feelings of grandeur. Very impressed, not forgetting the personal touch of Alice and her staff.
Breakfast was generous. We want to thank Alice for making special effort to get
for us a lunch at the Quinta de Pacheca restaurant
This is a hidden gem in the Regua region. The whole property (the inn, views, vines, trees) could be from a novel! Each window was an amazing view, and each morning we had a lovely breakfast. We also had access to a small kitchen, which made picnicking on the property a must! Great location, near river, bridge and train station.
This is a beautiful home that the host grew up in. The rooms are huge with a large bathroom as well. Unlike many of the small rooms we had in city hotels. The breakfast was excellent, the poolside a great place to relax after a day of travel. When you reserve, ask if you can have a room with a balcony facing the mountains.
The incredible view from the hotel and from the rooms, the comfort and decoration of the common area, the kindness of the staff, namely Salete. The swimming pool is also amazing, and the breakfast was delicious. you can seat for hours in the room’s balcony to enjoy the view of the Douro and Régua drinking a property’s wine.
Great location with spectacular views. This is a very well maintained classic hotel. Comfortable room and bed. Excellent bathroom.
Parking, between the hotel and the river, was straightforward. and spaces were big enough.
Helpful and friendly staff.
Good breakfast spread
This place is simply wonderful - well-kept, clean, polished to perfection, and everything thought out. I've had 85 stays via booking.com, and this one sets an unsurpassed standard for many of my previous stays, both in Portugal and in other countries.
At first it seemed like a cold business hotel, but Patrice at reception really went out of her way for me. She booked a winery tour and tasting for me at my next stop.
As I was only staying one night, it was good to be near the train station.
Breakfast was phenominal and a great way to start each day. Margarida was over the top responsive and helpful with all of our requests. Our stay at Casa do Romezal was the highlight of our 3-week trip to Portugal and Spain.
Location in one of the most beautiful places in Portugal, surrounded by river Douro and the vineyards, makes this one very good place to stay.
It is a very cosy environment, and one feels like it belongs there as well.
The apartment is beautiful and very comfortable. The view is stunning. The wooden floor in the whole apartment is something uncommon in Portugal and gives the place a lux-cosy touch. The check in was flawless.
Great value hotel, I have stayed before and it remains as good. Very convenient for railway station and therefore for exploring the Douro valley. Aircon was very effective. Breakfast very relaxed. Nice staff.
Our week stay at Quinta da Estrada was the best. Amazing views, great service from Luis and Helga, delicious meals, space, comfort, greatly located halfway between Vila Real and Regua.
