Such an amazing experience! From the moment we booked at the Brenton Lodge, we felt welcome. The owner sent us a text and updated us on what we could expect. The location is a perfect getaway, but it is still close to local shops & restaurants. We were greeted upon arrival, and the owner made sure we had everything we needed, plus he had started the heater prior to our arrival so that the room was cozy. We also received a recommendation to an awesome restaurant nearby. The accommodations were top-notch, plus they provided some amenities for a quick breakfast the next morning. I could go on and on about how wonderful the entire experience was, even though we only stayed one night. We didn't want to leave and can't wait to visit again. Thanks again to everyone at the Brenton Lodge for making our short stay a lifelong memory!

The cottage is gorgeous and spacious with good internet, very effective heating and great shower. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need and there are rubbish bins and recycling bins out the back. Great location near the railway, bike track and the motorway. Good communication beforehand to get access.

Whangamata is a small town but has everything you need, several good restaurants and cafes, shops and bars. The beach is beautiful, sandy, wide and safe. It is totally unspoiled. There is a small harbour, lots of fishing and boat rides. The surrounding countryside and views are magnificent. At low tide you can walk to one of the small islands.

Whangamata can give you what you want, whether its a quiet peaceful time or a bit of a night out. Lovely walks whether ir is a beach, forest or hill walk. Golf course, cycling tracks, or just a gentle stroll on the beautiful beach. Lots of cafes, places to eat, like European, Thai, Indian, Turkish Kebab or fish & chips as well as 3 clubs in town for a small fee can enjoy a drink as well as lovely food. Downside is places close early & not like the big towns/cities for food & drinks.

A brochure on how to work the dishwasher would help.
A brochure on how to work the dishwasher would help. We don't have one at home so didn't like to use it. Also had difficulty getting TV going. We rang and a lady came and helped with that and connecting to WiFi.

The town centre is small but pretty busy for the off season we had been there. However, not on Sundays, were almost everything is closed. The beaches are fantastic and also the mountainbike park nearby is really nice (note: you need a daypass for $20)

We always find Whanga a great place to stay in the off season. It has a lovely small town vibe when there are less people around. The beach is a great walk from the harbour to the estuary. You don't need to drive anywhere just walk.
Location was awesome, view was awesome & beautiful walks which ever way you went, Marina to the left & in that direction easy 10 minute walk to the super market. Inlet to the Marina when you went to the right eventually taking you to the wharf & easy walk to town. All in all stunning place to hold a small gathering of friends for my 60th birthday, ample space in the lounge/dining/living area & a balcony with stunning views on the 3rd level, with lots of parking across the road.
We were a group of seven(4 adults and 3 children) and liked our stay at Murrays on Mary. Breakfast was provided and was adequate for our needs. Gerrad was very helpful and also provided us some good tips on what to do in Whangamata and also gave us the tide information for the hot water beach which gave us the perfect time to visit the beach. Overall it was a very nice experience.
It is all that you could want in a beach accommodation. We loved the deck and the sunlight that streamed into the unit. The place is just a bit scruffy around the edges, but really comfortable and ideally located. It is a super short walk to the beach. The owner was keenly helpful with information about Whagamata, the islands and SUP rentals.
Spaciousness of unit, beautifully decorated, tasteful pictures. Loved the bed & linens. Good to have a choice of pillows too. Excellent water pressure and heating worked well. Kitchen had everything we needed and pool & spa were a bonus. Friendly welcome and assistance when needed.
Very comfortable and spacious apartment. Greenbelt area behind the hotel, lovely view. Everything very clean and well stocked for an extended stay if needed. Kitchen and dining area included, along with a living room area to relax. Not in the middle of town, so it's nice and quiet.
Room was great and really more like a small studio so there was plenty of space! We unfortunately only stayed for a night but the spacious closet and kitchenette would make this a great place for a longer stay. Great location close to downtown area and beaches.
Room was clean and comfortable. Host was very helpful, responsive and approachable. Love the pool and spa pool. Very modern property. Love that there's Netflix and Sky available with good internet despite the rurality. Lots of amenities available.
The apartment was spacious, clean & tidy.
There were plenty of kitchen items such as cutlery, crockery and a smart microwave and coffee machine.
The beds were comfortable too.
The apartment was close to the estuary, which was handy for walks.
Very friendly and great communication. Very comfy, quiet, beautiful and inviting place. Great to have air conditioning as it was such a humid day/night. Highly recommend this place for staying in Whangamata :) :) :)
Spacious, quiet, comfortable and spotlessly clean accommodation. Just a short walk to the beach or to town. Plus a very helpful owner who has some great local knowledge.
Had a great stay. Close to town. Safe swimming. Kids enjoyed jumping off the wharf and the pontoon and spent time at the skatebowl. Close to RSA and Whangamata Club
The unit was clean and spacious. Very handy to all of the amenities (pétanque, pool and tennis court) Right in the hub of Whangamata, can walk to shops and bars.
