Interesting art deco architecture.
Interesting art deco architecture. The CBD is very walk-able. Good shops and restaurants; we highly recommend Mister D's bistro. Great central location for exploring the Hawke's Bay wine region.

Attended a concert at McLean Park, Napier is so compact it was an easy enough walk. Great eateries, restaurants and wineries. Also some nice stores although some of them were a bit pricey. So many towns and sights are close to Napier and is appropriate for children and adults of all ages. Warning, you definitely need more than just a couple of days!

Napier is a BIG little town with plenty to see and do and lots of seaside walks and inner cycle pathways to explore. Nicely laid out and good places to eat. The reason why big trucks drive through town centre is baffling as there is a bypass to the port and is noisy and ruins the vibe. The significant gang presence in Napier is concerning, they are everywhere and are rude, aggressive, intimidating and seem to revile in their pathetic existence to annoy others.

We stayed here for the Napier Art Deco festival and the location was perfect with lots of free parking which was a real bonus as the town was very busy and many streets closed for the festival. Wonderful hotel with great staff very helpful and friendly. The room on the 5th floor end of corridor was brilliant with floor to ceiling windows on 2 sides the views were fab - in fact I watched the air display from there and had a closer view than people on the ground! We did not use the restaurant but did have breakfast at the swimming pool cafe opposite which was lovely and the Masonic Hotel which was also great. The location was a few minutes walk from the centre of the town so ideal We would absolutely stay here again but you need to book early for the festival in February - we booked in June the year before!

It's unfortunate that Napier, due to still struggling from the storms last year and the harvest staff requiring lodgings, it is very difficult to get reasonable accomodation. We visited Napier several years ago and absolutely loved it.
The rooms are exactly like the pictures and being able to step out onto the covered veranda was pretty cool. We missed Napier on our last trip to NZ so this time we were determined to do it in style. The hotel has done a wonderful job of recreating the Art Deco period and the attention to detail in furnishings and decor is very well done. We arrived quite early and the hotel very graciously let us check-in and get settled. The parking is not onsite but about only a few minutes walk. Everything is only really a few minutes walk.
Right opposite the sea. Easy walk into Napier centre. Napier is just gorgeous with all the are deco buildings and the care they have given to making the sea frontage beautiful. Coloured fountains at night etc.
Motel well appointed. Welcoming staff. Clean and very comfortable room. Great shower. Enough mugs, plates etc.
Bed very good and a balcony to look at the sea. Although on the road to town, hardly any cars came through at night so peaceful. Off road parking.
Would recommend.
This place is amazing to stay at so friendly and clean. This was our 3rd stay here and everytime we visit napier this is our number 1 choice. Staff are always so friendly and the cleanliness of the place is amazing. Being a cleaner myself I like things done properly and I know how hard work cleaning hotels is but everytime our rooms have been amazing and well worth our money for a great night's sleep.
Superb location in central Napier within walking distance of many restaurants, Marine Parade, the museum etc. Views to the sea. Super comfortable and spacious apartment, especially for just 2 people. We loved all the windows letting light and sunshine stream in. The kitchen is very well equipped. Great to have free, secure parking. Overall, we loved our stay and would definitely stay again.
Excellent facilities for children including playground, trampoline spa pool and games room. Kitchen facilities were also great and we cooked all our dinners in our units. Motel is just down the road from the supermarket, shopping centre and large outdoor playground. It was an easy drive in all directions to Napier, Hastings, and Bridge Pa.
Our room was HUGE and very clean. The location on West Quay turned out to be perfect. There were several cafes and restaurants very close by (try Salty Whale). The hotel offers free washing machine and only $2 for using the dryer. The reception staff were pleasant and very helpful.
Charming property, hostess, easy 10 minute walk to Napier downtown and 15 minutes to Ahururi. Hostess met us with wine and beer and fresh fruit Nice places to sit inside and out. Liked that tv had chromecast. Oh and you could have a fire in the small wood fireplace.
We chose The County Hotel for the Art Deco style in this Art Deco town. It was a fabulous hotel. Outstanding guest services (thank you Denise). Beautiful rooms. Sipped Port Wine in the library / sitting area. The Churchill restaurant was fabulous.
Jane and John are fantastic hosts, and we are returning customers. Normally, we wouldn't consider stating anywhere else in Napier. Unfortunately, we were their third to last guests, as they are closing the B&B and moving. Thanks, guys!
With Napier being the Art Deco Capital of New Zealand, The County Hotel is in a building of that era but has modern features. The bathroom and layout were excellent as was the furniture which reflected the style of the building.
The central location and waterfront views were great, and the art deco architecture was just what we'd wanted for our time in Napier. There were shared clothes washing and kitchen facilities which we appreciated.
I am more than happy with the Quality Inn Napier, it is in a great location on Marine Parade opposite the water. Our room was beautifully appointed, with a full kitchen & a spa bath. Parking is also provided.
The room was lovely, comfortable and warm. Great Kitchen and bathroom facilities, nice and clean.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
Lifts are easily accessible from the hotel entrance.
Beautiful room layout with the spa, and it was right across from the beach so the location couldn't be better. I will definitely stay there again if/when I go back to Napier!
Nice pool. Very good location on the front Parade close to Napier leisure activities. Close to RSA Cub. Close to shops and restaurants. Internet easy to use.
