This hotel has a cozy atmosphere, well located for visiting castles, and service was amazing. Cocktails and breakfast were worth the price.
Their family room is great value. It’s a real 2 bedroom suite with a shared bathroom. This means that you get to keep your privacy but there is only one exit to the hallway. Your kids don’t have to go out to a public space to get to your room if they get scared at night.
Kid friendly pool also a plus!
L'écu de Bretagne is located in the quiet medieval village of Beaugency. It features an outdoor, heated swimming pool, and WiFi is free of charge in the entire property.
Set in a peaceful place, this charming hotel is located near the Chateau de Beaugency and offers well-equipped rooms with free Wi-Fi overlooking a flowery garden.

A lovely garden where one can enjoy a drink or just chat or read a book. Our dog was made to feel welcome too, and the hotel is just beside the Grand Mail, which is handy for dog walking (with the appropriate toutou sac, of course!).

Very nice spacious apartment with a sleeping loft. Not great for someone uncomfortable with steep stairs, but I liked it. The open old beam decor was very nice. Well equipped kitchen. Managers were very responsive.
Maison de Beaugency centre boîte à clefs vélos dans la maison is located in Beaugency, just 4.7 miles from Chateau de Meung sur Loire and 12 miles from Chateau de Talcy.
Beaugency is a convenient stopover for us. It is a lovely old village with many bars and restauants but with modern conveniences (supermarkets etc) nearby, and not too far from the motorway network.

Beaugency is a typical Loire-side town and ancient bridging point. Well served by the primary routes along the valley the outskirts are those of a modern, bustling market town with all the facilities one would expect. The heart of the old town is found on the northern end of the graceful bridge and is centred on the masive defensive feudal keep. No elegant rennaissance palace, this. A stamp of lordly power from the 12th. & 13th. centuries the castle has echos of Joan of Ark and The Hundred Years War, right down to the present with a major surrender of German forces at the end of the last war. In the old town there are fine buildings and narrow alleys, a charming square with cafes, the excellent coaching inn (L'Ecu de Bretagne), and the remains of the seigneural domaine around the keep. Walks along the river are a little difficult to navigate as the old main road runs along the bank and is very busy. All-in-all, a lovely town for a long stay to explore the Chateaux, the wines and the history of the Loire

Beaugency is a pretty little town and although we have only ever used it as a stop off on our way down south I’m sure you could happily spend a few days here wandering round the old town, visiting the chateau, walking by the river and eating out in the wide range of restaurants.

This is our second overnight stop in Beaugency, so you can tell that we liked it ! There is a good variety of bars and restaurants . There are plenty of shops and supermarkets.
There is also a hypermarket on the edge of town for fuel etc.
Beaugency is a very pleasant place with beautiful buildings.
Beautiful location. Spectacular property with middle age character and charm and amazing views of the Loire. The staff was fantastic, especially Bienvenue, whose smiley and happy disposition is as welcoming as his name. The breakfast is amazing and to have it overlooking the Loire is something unforgettable. Unfortunately the restaurant has been closed for a while for lack of a chef, but we had an amazing dinner at a restaurant within 5 minutes walk from the hotel, called Le P’tit Bateau, run by the Chef and owner and his wife.
The hotel is ideally located with a view of the river Loire from most rooms. The abbey is a listed building so is old and the staircase whilst impressive is a major climb. Breakfast is a treat but we found it a bit expensive as compared to other hotels in the region. Parking on site is ideal but I guess this could be busy in the summer but there is free parking on the road nearby and by the river.
Excellent location in the town of Beaugency, no parking directly outside, had to search around for a space about 50 metres away. Met by Isobel with the key who was very helpful, lovely quiet coutyard area that you can relax in.
Would also reccommend the restaurant on the corner about 25 metres from the property, had a good meal thare at a reasonable price
When we arrived after a hectic week in Paris for 6 women growing older, we were ready to be served wine in the garden. it was wonderful. Also I had ordered dinner at the Hotel in advance and it was one of our most delicious meals in France. what a treat to be on our way to the Loire Valley and to have a welcome dinner like we had here.
Well-appointed bedrooms looking in on the pleasant inner garden are totally quiet. The hotel is very central, within easy walking distance of the town centre and the riverside. Secure parking space in the locked interior courtyard is free and convenient but must be requested in advance of arrival. Buffet breakfast, helpful staff.
This was our most favorite accommodation in our travels through Europe! The owners and their son were wonderfully welcoming and helpful, the hotel and its grounds were absolutely beautiful, perfect for a day of relaxation. Breakfast and dinner were delicious, served on the charming patio. Thank you for a most memorable experience.
A marvelous, atmospheric, unique place with spectacular views. Well positioned in Beaugency with an easy access by car as well as bike. The breakfast is rich and has an wide offer of local produce, incl. cheese, honey and pastry. The hallway and the drawing rooms are nicely decorated. The staff is very helpful and friendly!
Located in the middle of the old town everything was easy to walk to. There are plenty of restaurants and the Loire is so beautiful. The hotel courtyard has plenty of parking so we could just drop the car. The staff was very friendly, we'd certainly stay here again next visit.
A lovely garden where one can enjoy a drink or just chat or read a book. Our dog was made to feel welcome too, and the hotel is just beside the Grand Mail, which is handy for dog walking (with the appropriate toutou sac, of course!).
Breakfast very good. Lots of choices. Fresh. Beaugency is a lovely small quiet town bordering the beautiful Loire river. Friendly and helpful staff. Very French city. Not too touristy for beginning of summer season July 2 2022.
Loved everything about Hotel La Tonnellerie , the welcome from the friendly staff, the history of the hotel, its location and loved our room overlooking the lovely gardens and swimming pool.Dinner that evening was superb.
This is a lovely historic house which is spacious and comfortable, situated on a quiet road in the centre of the medieval town of Beaugency. Plenty of restaurants. The baker nearby sells croissants straight from the oven!
Very nice spacious apartment with a sleeping loft. Not great for someone uncomfortable with steep stairs, but I liked it. The open old beam decor was very nice. Well equipped kitchen. Managers were very responsive.
Very friendly and welcoming hosts, a cosy place to stay and spend vacation. Parking slot available, nice terrace, board games and books for children. A very good location not far from the old city of Beaugency.
Location is perfect in the very center of Beaugency. A very nice lady welcomed us and later recommended places to eat.
Overall a nice experience, the only thing is that our room was kind of outdated.
Excellent Location - Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast very plentiful. Pool superb. Shower was probably the best i've ever had in a Hotel - amazing water pressure !
