For me, Aix-en-Provence is a little bit overrated.

For me, Aix-en-Provence is a little bit overrated. It's nice, but I would not say is really charming. Students are everywhere - and that's nice, they are enjoying bars and adding a good vibe. Other than this, some areas looks dead - maybe is just because the vacation season did not started yet? Anyway, overall, for me Avignon is better than Aix

Nice city if you can access it.

Nice city if you can access it. We took the local train from Marseille and no taxi showed up for over 45 minutes. We finally walked to the hotel, which wasn't easy after a 3+ hour train ride. Just be prepared ahead with taxi co. phone number...Great town for foodies and drinkers..Three days are plenty. Plan excursions out of town to make the best of the area.

    Aix-en-Provence is lovely.

Aix-en-Provence is lovely. Excellent restaurants, shops, marchés, sites and museums. The core of the old town has medieval charm. There a beautiful squares and the Cours Mirabeau Is lined with plane trees, shops and resturants/bars/cafes. There are a lot of sites to see related to Paul Cézanne. His atelier is worth a visit. Where he painted his beloved Montagne Sainte-Victoire from the Terrain des Peintres. Aix is an excellent location to visit Provence from. Within two hours drive one has all of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur to visit.

The city was busy and some streets were to narrow for the car we rented. Some signals were confusing about narrow streets endings! The hotel was very enjoyable. It was a great opportunity to relax and enjoy nature. We could stay longer. We had great conversations with Christopher. He went out of his way to make us feel at home. We were able to wash and dried our clothes at no extra cost. He even packed for us some goodies for our trip.

Aix was a beautiful and historical place.

Aix was a beautiful and historical place. Every corner is breath taking. It is a stress free environment. We just wondered on foot and enjoyed every minute of it. Buses to various different places such Avignon is within walking distance in the historic area and the schedule is very frequent. Kiosk personnel are friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the markets and was able to purchase a Provencal table cloth sewed by a local lady. Equally enjoyable was people watching while dining and enjoying Rose (the specialty of Provence) in an outdoor setting by Aix main street, Cours Mirabeau

A great place to visit, steeped in history with plenty of restaurants, bars and individual shops in the old town. Visited Cezanne's studio and soaked up the atmosphere. Ate amazingly well.........however it appears that the local French have forsaken their own native cuisine for Italian as there are no end of Pizzerias and burger establishments. Search and you will find. Probably the best filet steak I've had since living in France for the last eight years was at the 'Cafe Grillon'....excellent fare. Parking is a nightmare and the roads surrounding Aix at peak times are to be avoided. A brilliant place for a long weekend........leave the car behind as you won't need it whilst there. If you do take your car, take a trip to Remy de Provence and Cassis. You won't be disappointed.

This hotel was recommended by a friend and we were so glad to have followed up on her advise. We really loved the spa. The weather had just turned rainy and cold so we didn't use the pool, but it was lovely and inviting to look at. The room was very comfortable, nicely decorated and had a desk and a small round table with a plant which made it feel homey. The breakfast buffet was exceptional. Parking was almost on-site, very reasonably priced for Aix. Staff were friendly and efficient. We look forward to returning.

A beautiful and grand hotel, with very beautiful gardens but still very close to the centre of Aix - a real oasis of calm and tranquility. All of the staff are incredibly warm, efficient and thoughtful. Wonderful restaurant for dinners, and breakfast outstanding (especially the fruit salad and cappuccinos!) We were travelling with our labrador, and she was given as warm a welcome as we were, and provided with a cushion and bowls in our room. An absolutely lovely visit to Aix, thanks to Le Pigonnet.

This beautiful little hotel is perfectly located at the edge of the old town near Le Rotunde (a very central spot). The rooms were spacious and the beds so comfortable! The bathroom shower was a bit tight but the large soaking tub made up for it! We loved our breakfast on the terrace each morning and then an afternoon apertif with a glass of wine and a little snack on the terrace as well. The hotel is very quiet and located on a very quiet street, no sirens or honking. I will definitely be back!

Such a picturesque hotel near all the Aix action but away from the hustle and bustle. Location is perfect with 1 to 2 km walking distance access to much of the restaurants, shops & Cours Mirabeau. The facilities -- spa, restaurants and especially the pool is absolutely fantastic. Rooms are decent size, beds relatively comfortable, good design of bathroom -- with separate shower & toilet. Staff is ready to help when needed. I think I found my perfect "home" when in Aix En Provence!

We went to this charming little hotel in our favorite part of Aix with high expectations and they were certainly met! From our warm welcome to the final Au Revoir the staff was amazing. The room itself was lovely, well appointed, comfortable, and with a beautiful garden view. Breakfast offers many excellent choices and we were more than pleased with ours. We highly recommend La Maison du Collectionneur and are currently planning a return visit. Don't miss out!

The staff were so friendly and helpful and we'd especially like to thank Yoanne for all his time and help. What a fantastic location, easy walking distance to everything in X. The room made us feel like we were living in an apartment more than a hotel. The price was extremely reasonable compared to a marque-name-branded hotel. We loved opening the windows and enjoying the breeze while enjoying our lunch. The open markets were terrific, and it was nice not to need a car. A 25-minute bus ride to Marseilles, but for us, Aix-en-Provence is the place to stay.

The best feature was the breakfast, with products of quality, variety, good safety measures against Covid and a pleasant patio. The breakfast room staff were kind, helpful and accommodating. The other good feature of the hotel was an excellent location, not quite in the centre of town, which made the hotel quiet, but very near and in a good part of town.
