The hotel is recently refurbished and it's clean and comfortable. Perfectly located in the city center, benefits from a large parking and the vicinity of a park, as well as shops and restaurants. The staff was friendly and helpful.

It is the city were I was born, so for sure I can recomand it, you have lots to do, lots to visit. A unique Museum for Coal Miner is open all year round, an exceptional Theatre and a nice cinema are also present; Access to Parang mountain resort is possible via the 2 chairlifts, or by car in spring and summer; You can also do windsailing, rafting, and lots and lots of walks; In summer several swimming pools are open, as well as night clubs

My review is about Parang, because Ayana is situated at the bottom of Parang, near the old chairlift.
Parang is quite rundown. I hope that now they will began investing, after the road was finished. We only ate at Ayana. We liked the view from the mountain, but if you don't have a car, and the chairlift doesn't work, it is quite a long trip...

Very poor management of this great nature jewel.
Very poor management of this great nature jewel. The transportation systems are all separated and with manual check-ins / check-outs, everything is "cash only", no ATM-s, no stores in touristic area. The train station is sad and unwelcoming, no information about anything. Wild place, indeed, what a pity it is inhabited...

Petrosani, as all the other former minning cities from the area, looks depressing. Fortunately, not far away there is the National Park Retezat, the aurochs reserve and the skiing resort Straja. Unfortunately, none of the above is being managed in such a way to provide a high level of satisfaction for potential tourists. Such a pity :)

Petroșani itself is not the most beautiful town, but it is conveniently located, allowing access to one of the most beautiful parts of Romania - Retezat mountains (the oldest natural park in Romania and a spectacular alpine region), Parâng mountains and Țara Hațegului with Șureanu mountains (home to the ancient Dacians, thus many archaeological sites).
The hotel was wonderful, located in a very interesting building, nicely renovated, it was a really pleasant surprise.
Rooms are very clean and large and so are the bathrooms.
The attention to details is remarkable, there was a shaving kit and 2 toothbrush kits among the usual soap and shower gel. There's a large parking and a nice restaurant.
The hotel staff is friendly, attentive, and dedicated to providing exceptional service. Since we left early the next day, we received breakfast to go.
Mountains are very close.

The host went above and beyond to ensure our stay was pleasant, providing us with all the amenities we could need and more. The location was perfect, allowing easy access to local attractions and dining. I highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a hassle-free and enjoyable experience in Petrosani

Great choice for us, as everything went smooth, with the most gracious host Mihaela , strongly recommend staying at this property. The property had everything you need, clean, and Mihaela the host was most than gracious to cater to our every need. If ever visiting Petrosani, I encourage everybody to rent this property, we certainly will re-book when we return!
Thank you Mihaela
The place is just near Hotel Rusu - so just at the basement of the new chairlift. The continental breakfast included in the price of the room (you have three options to choose from) was good and the waiters very nice and friendly. The coffee is very good. The owner is also a truly pleasant person. The room was very clean and the view from our window was breathtaking.
We arrived at 23:00 and checked in without any problem. Staff speaks english.
If you ask, they can make you a coffee, or give some boiled water.
Good location, center of Petroşani. 50 min by car to reach Transalpina Ski, and 40 min - Straja Ski.
Huge room.
Decent hotel to spend a night.
The property is located just off the pedestrian area in Petroșani, with straight-forward access to the railway station, to shops, cafes and other facilities. There are all necessary amenities available, from washing machine to cooking stove, dishes, towels etc.

Truly recommend !!
The place is in Petrosani and 30 minutes driving to Straja.
The staff was very professional, inviting and helpful in providing the a most amazing experience. The room and the bed were very comfortable and felt very cosy overall. Is definitely the best choice for a hotel in Petroșani.
A one-room apartment at the 4th (last) floor of an apartment building in the very heart of Petrosani. Nice place, very modern style, fit for a short journey for a couple or single tourists.
The fact that the location is not near the central area of Petrosani, so the traffic is not disturbing and really close by the roads that lead to the ski slopes.
Cozy place in Petroșani.
40 min away from Straja Ski Resort and aprox 1h away from Ski Resort Transalpina 🌲
Close to restaurants ( we recommend Via Vinoteca )
