Such a beautiful culture and land. The cloud forest is magical and the guides are passionate about sharing what makes it unique and about preserving it. The falls at El Tigre are an absolute must, and Los Pinos Cabins offer one of the most memorable and relaxing accommodations I've experienced in recent years.

Mo reverse was a beautiful place to visit, nice restaurants/bars/shops, it is very hilly (bring it’s up a mountain). Lots to do whilst there. We used Treetop’s a to go zip lining and high bridges walk, they were very professional and made sure your safety was top priority.

If you are a birder, this is paradise. In just a few days we identified nearly 200 species of birds. There are lots of reserves, parks, etc. in Monteverde to explore and it would be easy to spend a couple of weeks trying to see them all. Monteverde was one of the highlight of our Costa Rica tour. The forests are beautiful (though we saw more wildlife during the day in Manual Antonio and Cahuita). Do not miss the night tour with a knowledgeable local guide, you can spot a lot of animals and he also explains a lot about animals that you can see on your own during the day. Millions of potentials for different activities (we tried Selvatura package, excellent, can only recommend), coffee plant tour, hanging bridges, hiking, etc. I wish we could have had more time here ! I would return anytime (to hike El Tigre which we did not have time now, do a canopy tour again and hanging bridges). Food was also great (Sabor Tico, at the football field and Choco Café Restaurante y Cafetería).

Monteverde is wonderful for nature lovers. We really enjoyed the Cloud Forest Biological Preserve. Even on a very windy day we saw quite a bit of wildlife and had a lovely walk. However, I recommend either reserving tickets online in advance or be prepared to wait over an hour for openings (they only allow 250 people at a time) on busy weekends. There are quite a lot of good places to eat. Go with one of the bigger companies on a night tour and book well in advance. We went through some area near a coffee farm and it was underwhelming.Taylor

We went to Tambor Lodge for another week and the people were great, but Poco a Poco food was WAY better. Bueno Chefs!!! Larger menu for dinner might be nice. You don't have a beach, but Poco a Poco is 120% a great stay. If you put more hot tubs outside rooms, you would have tons of repeat customers. YOUR STAFF ARE IMPECCABLE AND ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! It had great facilities - it offered nightly entertainment, help with booking local activities & also had two hot-tubs which could be booked for free. Good food options for breakfast. Our bed was very comfy & we had a large cinema screen in our room which was amazing. Taxis are cheap into the centre to go for dinner or drinks. We found monteverde was much cooler in general & very windy so make sure to take warm clothes!

Their recommendations for activities and restaurants were fantastic. They set us up with a guide named Roy who took us on an early morning tour of the Cloud Forest. Wow - he was so good we had them book us a night tour with Roy that same day. They also recommended places for dinner (and booked them) that turned out to be great! Location is convenient to restaurants and activities (8-20 minutes to almost anywhere).

Hands down the best food we've had in all our trip to CR. Both breakfasts and dinners, every dish we tried was delicious. The staff is beyond attentive and helpful, especially Daiana in the reception and Kenneth. There was construction close to our bungalow during our stay and the staff had solutions ready to make our stay enjoyable. The beds are very comfortable and you can see animals right outside your doorstep. Highly recommend!
