We fell in love with the Perhentians.
We fell in love with the Perhentians. It was far better than we imagined. Long Beach was quiet during the day but had an atmosphere at night. Locals were friendly and welcoming. Fantastic snorkelling.

Perhentian Islands have beautiful beaches with rocky out...
Perhentian Islands have beautiful beaches with rocky out crops secluded bays and great snorkling. Super relaxed atmosphere, lots of yummy places to eat and drink and very friendly people. If you haven't got the energy to hike over the enormous hills to the other side of the Island you can always find a water taxi close by which are pretty cheap.
Probably would try and avoid the Islands in June and July if you don't like crowds and also try and avoid the little jelly fish that are around certain times of the year which can make you super itchy!!!

Perhentian is truly one of the best island here.
Perhentian is truly one of the best island here. Its not luxe but it is a gem.
The water is beautiful and the sea life is abundant. You can see hundred of fishes just from the jetty alone. Diving is great but take into account the weather.
Food takes a lot longer as its just the island way so you'll need to account for that if you're planning your meal.
Respect the culture and ppl and they will do the same. The cheap accommodation options are reflective of the price you pay.

Thin walls, could hear the neighbours.
Thin walls, could hear the neighbours. Make sure you specify the view you want. The view from my cabin was onto the back of the main restaurant/admin building. The restaurant food was very good and the staff efficient.

It is an amazing place!
It is an amazing place! The water is beautiful and there are lot’s of great beaches on both islands. You most try snorkeling in some areas. You can rent mask and snorkle everywhere on the islands, and even go for a boat tour that takes you to the best spots. You can also hire a taxi boat to go to any beaches, or travel between the 2 main islands in 10-15 rides.
We saw some poeple bring their own alcohol and water on the island, as it is always cheaper to bring your own. Sun block protection is very expensive on the island. Bring your own!

The islands are nice, but you have to find the right beach...
The islands are nice, but you have to find the right beach and always get around by water taxi, which are cheap anyway, it's not very convenient to get there from Kuala, you have to take a plane for an hour's transfer and another 45 minutes by boat, if you wrong with the times you risk staying there! in the world there are more comfortable and beautiful islands to visit but these are certainly very cheap. One of the most beautiful beaches on Besar and certainly turtle beach, instead on Kecil Mira beach and D' Lagoon. They are not islands with a social life but in the evening a lot of relaxation I recommend going there between April and July, August is a risky month you get rain and cloudy skies all day

The owner and stuff is helpfull. Even they guesthouse didn’t have reception, they will come when you call them. They will help you for the snorkelling and boat services.for us The guesthouse is normal because its a guesthouse not Hotel.we can feel the village environment. The mini mart, food court and the beach is 3/4 minute walk. We don’t expect much because location is in the village so it was beautiful experience for us. If you looking for perfect place such as nice hotel/resort this is not the place for you.
The hotel is basically on the beach, so it's perfect for those who like sunbathing and swimming. Also, it's on a very quiet beach, so there was no noisy music at night. The food at their restaurant was amazing! (Especially their fruit shakes and dishes with sea food). Breakfast also had quite a few options to choose from. Last but not least, the staff was very friendly and helpful. They even arranged our transfer to the airport.
Everything was just perfect. Roomy, clean, quiet place with a huge terrace and a beautiful sea view. We could hear the waves from the bed, so relaxing. Many restaurants around, a local experience in the nearby fishing village. And that all for a very reasonable price. We send nice greeting to Syed, the best and funniest receptionist ever 😉
And don't miss super delicious ROTI in the restaurant next to the hotel.
The location is on the top part of long beach just in front of the water. Next to cafés, stores, a bar (loud at night), water taxis and diving/snorkel centers.
The 3 upstairs room have incredible views of the beach and jungle shore.
Staff was nice, amenities were good for the standard of the islands.
Considering other places for similar price, OceanBoys Inn is a fair stay.
Good customer services, caring & welcoming (Kak Ila & Ayah Hassan). Live like local, explore local people lifestyle, culture, etc. Easy to access to everywhere at Perhentian Islands (Both Lesser Perhentian & Greater Perhentian). Delicious local food such as nasi dagang, nasi kerabu, keropok lekor, etc. Clean, comfortable & value for money accommodation.
Beautiful location of chalets on a cliff edge overlooking the sea. It is literally on paradise! The hotel has a restaurant with amazing food at a reasonable price, don’t miss the Tom Yum seafood soup, it’s outstanding! The staff can’t do enough to help you, always smiling, helped do our laundry and sort transfers back to the mainland. We will be back!
The view and location on the beach is perfect and convenient. The hotel is comfortable and has everything you need for a few days on the beach. Walking distance to many dive centres. Staff is nice and smiling. Probably the best hotel you can find on Perenthian Islands. Restaurant on the beach and very good food.
The beach where hotel is perfect, no stones, sandy, good for kids. There are few places for dinner or lunch close to hotel.
Better rooms are in the first line to the beach, others are bad.
The Perenthian islands are great
The hotel is directly on the beach
The restaurant is good even if too expensive and with a nice view
Good daily courtesy cocktail
The hotel is in a great location, long beach is beautiful. It is just off the Jetty so you don’t need to drag bags through the sand. Lovely pool overlooking the sea.
Hotel quality facilities, great food at the Cafe, recommend the spaghetti carbonara & nachos.
One of the rare places that serve beer (for those who drink)
