Watford City is close to the northern entrance of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. We visited both the north and south units and the north was our favorite. Watford City is a small town and dining options were a challenge for us, but we loved the proximity to Theodore Roosevelt National Park.

I like that they are close to the state of art hospital I need for my heart and lungs and that my husband is here 20 days out of the month for work. The people here are very friendly and have been so helpful with me. That's about it.

Watford City is the jump-off spot for Theodore Roosevelt National Park's North Unit. It has a number of moderately priced restaurants of moderately good quality. There is excellent, relatively cheap, lodging available. There is no car rental available in Watford City, the nearest car rental is at the airport in Williston, one hour away.

Great location for visiting the North Unit of Teddy...
Great location for visiting the North Unit of Teddy Roosevelt. It's also a fascinating spot as a recent oil boom town that has exploded in population over the last decade. Be aware one of the top rated places in town for food, JL Beers, doesn't allow under-21s at any time of day. Little Missouri Grille was a great spot and a peek into the town's pre boom atmosphere with traditional North Dakota food and farm newspapers in the entryway.

We loved the water park!
We loved the water park! It was definitely made with kids in mind! Not expensive at all! We loved all the shops on main street and places to eat. Our favorite place to eat was Outsiders Bar & Grill and my husband appreciated the tobacco shop as well! It was easy to navigate around town, not a lot of traffic. Theodore Roosevelt Park would be a great place to explore which is on the way into Watford City from the south. We were lucky enough to be able to attend the McKenzie County Fair while we were there! It was hot but lots of fun! Great community!

Maybe we didn't take the time to look around, but there didn't seem to be a huge variety of restaurants to choose from on Friday evening. But I know it's a small town with limited options. The town is an ideal place to stay if you're visiting Roosevelt National Park north unit as we were doing.
This was easily overall one of the nicest hotels that we have stayed at in the last few years as far as amenities, breakfast, size of rooms, price and essentially everything. No wonder others have given it such a strong review. Would highly recommend this chain to anyone.
Hotel and room were very well maintained and new.
Staff was friendly, rooms clean and shower comfortable.
The room we had was super big, with an extra space with two chairs and a tv.
Wonderful!
Breakfast was ok.
Room and facility was clean. Staff was friendly and check-in was fast. Easy parking access close to doors. Pet friendly. Close to a restaurant. Hotel had an elevator and stairs. Breakfast offered in am.

The staff was extremely friendly, courteous, and helpful. I will recommend this hotel to my family and friends. I will also stay here during my future trips.
